Oh, also, nice B&B's - particularly those in historic homes.

A good time of year for CF couples is also the time between Thanksgiving and Christmas, since most families take their trips around those holidays, they don't travel between them.

We don't intentionally avoid family resorts, but as scuba divers we tend towards smaller resorts in out of the way places. There aren't usually many families there. Diving isn't conducive to small children and older children who dive tend to be on the more responsible side.

Best vacation we ever had was to Jeju island south Korea. It's their own little honeymooner island. Almost everyone there is in matching outfits (which means they are newly wed). We saw very very few children, but even the ones that we did see (because of how amazing the culture is) are very respectfull, responsible, and don't draw attention by misbehaving. It was the best vacation of my life.

P.S. Because of how good this trip was, we are talking about going back this summer, but staying for a month.

I tend to take my vacations in September, when most kids have started school. I tend to avoid going anywhere on holiday weekends or school breaks. Prices go down and there are a lot less crowds. Every time I have gone to Vancouver, BC, I have not seen many kids around. BF and I were up in Whistler in mid January, and surprisingly did not see many families. We stayed in a hostel, which was not kid friendly. Also cheaper rates. There were a lot of college kids, but that is different. Just do your research and avoid going on vacation during school breaks. I would like to find pet friendly hotels, though.
