Skeeter, you're just a "googling" fool this evening! Slow shift at work?

Always remember to check here, too, in the profiles!

Who would have guessed that Cookiecody and I lived less than 15 miles apart! Cookie noticed a few months back that we were both in Dallas, and we mused about meeting up for coffee. Last week, we finally met for the first time when we went for a drink shortly before she joined our crazy Bunko group for a night of girl fun. The hostess recently e-mailed me to let me know she still has Cookie's cute little cooler tote, but I think she grabbed it so Cookie would come back for February Bunko - HAH!

I'll be looking to this post for ideas on meeting more CF folks, too. I love spending time with my boyfriend, but also love our separation times, as I'm sure many marrieds enjoy, too. I had never really been much into girl friends, but the girls/women I've met after age 29 have been the best ever, and I've really enjoyed them.

i just wanted to thank everyone for the google search suggestion. i was reading the posts and i just tried it and i found on craig's list someone who wants to start a group in my area.i just emailed them so hopefully i'll hear something soon. the person who posted it wants it to be an activities/support group for CFers. that's right up my alley. i had given up for a while on finding such a group.i sure hope it works out.

Not only have I met Angela through this group, I've also met another gal who posted for a while, but hasn't had time to post much lately, and I've gotten together with her a few times. My husband and hers have hit it off well too, and I wouldn't be surprised if they go play golf or see a game sometime on their own.

And as other people have said, look for activities that aren't conducive to people with kids, perhaps wine-tastings, cooking classes, reading groups...things that parents don't have time for.

When we go to a restaurant with one of our single friends, it makes me uncomfortable, because whenever they want to split up the check, it's always like, "Okay, you two, and you two and... oh, are you all by yourself?" It's like did the waiter have to point that out? It's just mean. I feel bad for my single friends.

Do you think our men would miss us?

Thanks for the mention of cooking classes, Cookie. I love to cook, so I've actually been planning on taking some of those anyway, but I hadn't thought about the possibility of finding some CF friends in the process.

manderley, what part of Ohio are you in? I'm smack in the middle of the state, and there are a few others from NE Ohio who post.

Hi Tbunny, I'm in NE Ohio, close to Youngstown, if you know where that is. We're probably about an hour and a half from Cleveland.
