When I was a kid, I was afraid of large spaces (churches, business buildings, etc.) It wasn't the buildings themselves. I had this nagging feeling that I wasn't quite tethered to the ground, and if I let go of, say, a church pew, I would be swept up into the sky. When I would walk into a place with high ceilings, I would hang on for dear life!
Not exactly stable, huh?
