Wow Feebee, that's inspiring. I especially like the time that you're setting aside each day to explore your own city.

Thanks Malamutes! You know, it's really amazing how much influence this forum has had on my resolutions. It's given me a lot of determination, strength and inspiration. Another major factor is getting out of my job in a struggling arts organisation where so much emotional pressure was put on me by colleagues to devote my life to the job. So I'm very excited about this year.

I love nothing more than reading threads on this forum related to resolutions, what people do at their weekends etc - it gives me such a sense of camaraderie and many ideas too.

Balance. This is easier said than done, as I'm a self-employed decorative painter, play bass professionally in 3 bands and am working on a series of paintings I hope to promote this year. Although my work tends to be feast or famine, I will strive to make sure I don't book every waking moment when the work is there. And when the work is light (like now!) I will use it productively and not obsess on what I can't control.

Take time to nurture quality friendships and not waste time on people who aren't capable of being friends.

Relax and be patient with other drivers instead of muttering a constant stream of obscenities.

Be conscious, observant and present. (I have a tendency to live in my head)

Stay healthy and in shape.

That's awesome, Feebee! I'm going to refer back to your post a few times throughout the year, I'm sure.

My NY resolution is to shape the best body I've ever had. I started working on it last summer, and I've gotten the weight nearly where I want, but I want another 7 pounds off...those are always the most stubborn.

My boyfriend and I did so many outdoor activities last summer -- especially around water -- and I was always a little self conscious, thinking, Man if I could have just started in Jan/Feb, I'd look like a million bucks in this swimsuit.

Another resolution is to blow the roof off my sales quota. More sales = more money = more travel. I want to dive the Bahamas this year.

Third resolution is to get my condo. I want a little place of my own. smile

I had also made a resolution to be a better mom to my cat. Sounds silly, but I had been neglecting her litter care ever since she started getting wise after my ex-boyfriend's cat visited for two weeks.

Prior to the other cat's visit, my Jackie never missed. I cleaned her box every other day, we were happy. Damn male comes in and all hell broke loose after he [censored] the carpet. Jackie thought it was okay to miss the box after that. Once that starts, it's all over.

Thanks to someone else's post in here with a suggestion to have two litter boxes (one for urine, one for other), I tried it, and it worked! But I knew I still had a small amount of carpet to deal with from the past...

Tonight, I bought a small carpet cleaner vac thing, I gutted out the closet where I've kept her box and steam-cleaned it. With a fresh (bleached) box, and a cleaned area, I'm hoping for the best. Just proud to say that something I made a New Year Resolution came true. I'm a better mom to my kitty. We're both so much cleaner. smile
