I am a ware of only two that I know are legitimate. I saw them on GMA when they ran a story on them and the people that worked for them. They were disabled so I thought that was great. They were still able to make a living. The companies are call centers I think. I applied to one and then had to answer a particular question on paper and they would call me. The call was basically the same questions only live. I guess they rated you on how well you handled and answered the questions for that particular problem.

Here is one of them:

I must disagree, they are not all scams there are some very legit very ethical opportunities that are available to help you and help change the world. Please see here:

A HIGH VIBRATIONAL OPPORTUNITY that STANDS APART from the REST

A Testimonial:
As a stay at home mom, I have spent countless hours on the internet searching for a real work from home opportunity only to finally decide that I couldn't believe any of it. I cannot tell you how many hyped up business opportunities I have looked at and found that there is always some kind of "catch". Either you have to spend a lot of money to maybe make some or you have to hound your friends and family to buy something that they don't really want or need. Thanks so much for the great ideas! I've heard that call centers use work at home people but this is the best list I've seen.

I also checked out the power mall as we do lots of online shopping and it looks terrific.

Thanks again.

Just a word on Direct Sales companies - I'm not trying to sell you on one, just give you some tips when evaluating.

Some are good, really good, others not so much. When looking at direct sales, consider these items:

1) Do you love the product, is it something you will use?
2) How much is it to sign up and what is included? Is it worth the investment? The kit should include more product than the sign up fee and be diverse enough that you don't have too many of the same item.
3) What are the requirements for remaining a rep? Do you have to purchase a certain amount each month or each quarter to remain a rep?
4) Training, is there any and if so where does it originate? Head office or your recruiter?
5) Are you going to receive enough help to get going? The hardest part is the start up.
6) What are the restrictions of the company? Are you only allowed to sell in certain areas? Can you enter only so many events? Can you sell online? Are you allowed to have an independent website? Is it exclusive and you can't sell anything else?
7)Do you know anyone that uses that product or a competitors product?
8) Is the product priced well or will you spend lots of time trying to convince them it's worth the price
9) What kind of quality is the product and what is the warranty?
10) How many reps are in your area? Is the market saturated?

This should be enough questions to start you off....

I was onced scammed in Ebay. It was a pretty bad karma. I have learned my lesson from there. I hate scam sites that offers free registration and then little do you know you have a bill to pay. I will be very careful.

There is a big difference between "work - at - home" which implies being an employee with a salary or paid hourly wage and being self - employed and starting a business.

I was looking for a business 18 years ago and looked into the "legitimate" store ownership, cottage industry type of things but was really disappointed after a couple months of research. The SBA people told me that without thousands of dollars (tens of thousands) to invest in a small business that I would have no real hope...and that even if I did invest tons of money I should expect the business to fail. No wonder why I turned to Direct Sales.
I never wanted to be a sales person - especially one of "those" you know what ladies who show products in peoples living rooms. My perception of the home sales person was someone who was uneducated, pushy and low class. What a hag I was to think that!

I started with a really good company and over 17 years built a business that sold more than 1.5 million a year - in peoples living rooms! My husband quit his job and worked with me and we bought our dream home, all while I worked out of my home.
I am one of the very fortunate few. I have worked with hundreds of women who come into Direct Sales and have seen just about everything. Some purchase the kit and then disappear, some make good money for a short time, some even manage to make a pretty good income and some make really good money.

The bottom line to success in Direct Sales or any business actually, is desire. If you really want to reach your goal (big or small) you have to really want it and be willing to do things that at first might make you uncomfortable. Making yourself call customer #12 after the first 11 have said thank you but no, making yourself do all the little things that need to be done that make the huge difference and making yourself treat the business like a business not a hobby are what it takes. And most importantly you must be willing to learn and take advantage of the training from the people who have been there and done that.

For anyone looking for a Direct Sales career I urge you to check out the DSA as somebody else recommended http://www.dsa.org and also you do the interviewing of the upline or company you might want to work with.

Look for a leader who wants to know what your goals are. Does she want to know about you and your family and what your experiences have been and what you want? Or does she just do everything she can to sell you on her business? What training do they offer and where? Check out a few before you make your decision.

I wish that everyone could enjoy the success that I have and I wish for all of you good luck in finding the situation that will work best for you and your family!
