This is so true. I am fascinated with tattoos and people who get them, maybe because I don't think I could ever settle on a such a permanent design for myself. So, I therefore find it very difficult to ask people about something when I'm concerned that it might be taken the wrong way when I have to reveal that I have no tattoos and no intention of getting any. But it's actually that I really admire that certainty in others and I get terribly curious as to what design someone chooses "for life".

I'm like you, Elle. I love tattoos, but I don't have any. I can never seem to stay set on one design idea for more than a month or two, and that's just not good enough. If I'm in a setting casual enough for it to be acceptable, I always ask to see. People seem to feel complimented by my interest, but surprised I don't have any of my own. (I will eventually, I'm sure.)

I am right there with you Elle!! I think it says a lot about a person. I myself have no ink and I think that i grow and change all the time so I dont want to have something perment when I am not. although I have wanted to get a leprochon setting on a mushroom with her feet proped up on a pot of gold with a cig. in one hand and a bottle of Jack in the other and in a little speech bubble "Kiss Me Arse" but as someone pointed out the cig could be seen as a joint and the mushroom a shroom and that is not me at all and at 80+ years old I dont really want the person cleaning me up to think that it was or take it as an invite for many lovers in my life which i dont have..... smile all in all I think they are pretty just not for me!

I have only had mine almost 1 year and since I live in a small town, they did a sort of story that was suppose to be about crochet and instead the "interviewer" happened to see the bottom half of my tattoo. She asked to see it and then asked if she could take a picture. I had no idea that on "The Edge" newspaper insert, my arm would be the full front page. So now my tattoo is recognized by almost everyone who ask to see it (oh wow was that your arm in the paper). I do get asked alot "why" and of course "didn't that hurt" , HA. I am planning on getting another one but I promised my older son that we could get one together. I am thinking my next one will be a mermaid smile
