Thanks, haridas. I'm so glad that I have been blessed with so little, lingering effects of my stroke, so I can communicate easily with all of you!

I have heard it said:
"It's not that Fearless people have no Fear. it's that Fearless people know fear and have faced it."

I like that.

Thank you Haridas and Trish, for your good suggestions.

Yes, it is very true that familiarity and practice usually brings confidence, as does facing our fears.

Self talk, I think, is a third important factor.

Holly, this is a good thing to keep in mind, too. By having experiences, we CAN be stronger. That in turn helps us to have confidence.

Yes, that IS a good quote, Alex! Thanks.

God bless all of you, my bella friends!

And yes, self talk is good but, so is talking to your friends. You get feedback and have a sounding board for what you have thought.

Have a wonderful day!

This is an excellent topic cd.
I agree with all the above comments, much appreciated. Here's a few for you:
Confidence is built from success and what you learn from failure. Confidence is the best way to shine from within. And it's all about a positive mind-set. Challenge yourself at every opportunity to go a little beyond what you know you can do. Soon you will confidently know you can do just about anything you choose. Your feelings affect literally everything you do in life, and everything that happens in your life especially your self-confidence levels and self esteem. Do you wish to have confidence? Then get busy and build it. Start with something small, and take a leap of faith in yourself. When you have a modest accomplishment under your belt, you have something real upon which to build. smile
