Is it time to tar and feather bounty hunter Duane Chapman for his rant involving and invoking the n-word? Should he be left alone? Is it a right to privacy issue? What do you think?

I think privacy shouldn't be issue, since he chose to accept having a part of his life on television. He is allowed to have personal opinions, but publicly, he should keep those that are unsavory to himself. He should issue a public apology.

I must be missing something here. I had understood Duane Chapman used the "n" word in a private telephone conversation with his son which was mysteriously recorded and became public. While I don't condone his sentiments, if he truly made the comments at issue in what he thought was a private conversation, then it does seem to me that his privacy has been invaded. If we were all condemned for something we expressed privately, I suspect a lot of us (me included) would be in proverbial "hot water"...

I agree that he should be ashamed of his sentiment but the phone conversation where he issued the nastiness was supposedly a private conversation between him and his son. So, he did keep the unsavory aspect of his opinions private ... until his son sold the tape.

Frankly I don't associate with people who use this kind of language. I definely would not allow them around my daughter.

I also would not watch a program with someone of this type in it. Not like I watched it anyway.

As for his right to privacy, well I do not advocate recording peoples phone conversations but that is between him and his son. It does not however change that he appears to be a racist. I don't think you can use language like that and claim to NOT be a racist.

I agree he sounds like a racist and I abhor his position. However, I still believe his right to privacy has been violated and I also think there is a federal law against recording someone's telephone conversation without his or her permission. Can someone in the legal field address this issue? Anyway "Dog" not only has problems stemming from his prejudice, but also must have a terrible relationship with his son.

I am not a lawyer but have had occasion to hear this discussed. It can depend on the state where the conversation takes place AND if both parties are in the same state.

Often the law states that as long as ONE party knows the call is being recorded, its ok to make the recording however this can change.

I don't agree with infringing on someones privacy even if the law said that was OK, thats not right to do to someone, no matter how bad your relationship is with that person. However that is a seperate issue from his racism. I don't think his son outting him to the world as a racist makes it ok that he mis-used his trust like that.

Whatever personal problems Dog has, his son sounds like he has his own issues that he would do that too his Father. It was a very manipulative and back-stabbing thing to do.

Privacy good. Racism Bad. As long as these things aren't in question thats fine. I wonder if he has ever participated in a lynching .. .because some how i feel Lynching is bad weather it is private or not. Yeah, bad

You know, the lynching comment is way over the top. It's one thing to rake someone over the coals for saying stupid stuff, it's another to suggest that he participated in cold blooded murder because he was taped saying stupid stuff.

David Duke says we have reached the point where we need a Civil Rights movement for white people.

I knew about the tape that the son made public (his son is a jerk), but what is happening now? I have not heard anything for several weeks.

I read thru all the comments some of you guys are really funny. I for one defended the Dog. I was a fan I watched his show and never felt he had racist feelings towards man, period.

I didn't want to listen to the tape aired over the internet. If some of the rants I've expressed privately were sold - I might end up in prison - George Bush still is the president, right?

My son worried me to death to listen, so I finally did...

What's the real deal with Duane Dog Chapman? He wasn't angry or mad - He was calm - He wasn't screaming and hollering?

I look at him differently now.

He's one of them I like Black people long as you don't marry them or bring'em to my house. So, that makes you a racist. And it works both ways for Blacks and Whites, Mexicans, whatever.

If you don't think races should mix, marry, make babies or come to your home, then you have 'ism' problem.

But, anyway I heard several weeks ago His show was back on.

I thought the guy was an ignorant pig to start out with. His racial comments only confirmed the extent of the piggishness.
