Husband is a riot.
He comes up to me when I am shopping and says: "Miss, I need to look in your bag". Everyone looks at me like I am stealing. I say "Stop IT!!".
His bluntness comes in handy when people always ask us about why we aren't having kids.
He tells me to do the same. Women can't pull it off as well smile

Yep -- a sick, twisted sense of humor.

But I like that, in a strange sort of way, if I had the guts to actually say and do some of those things smile

""I love the kids I work with btu everyday when I get home from work I am overjoyed that i dont have kids. Im so happy to just have the love of my four dogs and three cats who dont ask for moeny constantly and dont need non stop attention and care or a college education. Im so happy after working wiht these kids and taking care of their needs I can go home and just think about what I want to do and what makes me happy and that the money I earn will go for the things I want and I dream about and not what a child would need." He looked shocked for a minute and then he said you actually make a really good point."

Being a childfree teacher could I POSSIBLY agree with you MORE?
JUST BECAUSE WE WORK WITH EM DOESN'T MEAN WE WANT EM!
How many people do in their spare time what they do for work?

Do people say "Yay I'm leaving the office now, I can't WAIT to go home and STAPLE stuff!" ? Or "I'm leaving the shop now, I can't WAIT to go round to my friends house and try and SELL them stuff!" ? or "I'm leaving the building site now I can't wait to go home and exhaust myself further by doing tons of DIY!" ? or "I can't wait to leave my secretarial job and go home and type lots and lots of business letters!" ???

Do any of you KNOW people like that? Sure, some people are like that but MOST of us, I bet like to go home and switch off from work!!

To me and the rest of us childfree by choice who work with kids we love kids but we love even MORE giving them back at the end of the day to go home to our more quiet, orderly childfree lives and homes!

We work with kids five days a week, don't want to make take seven days a week and evenings and holidays too!

Some teachers of course want kids and some have lots. But NOT ALL of us!

Plus we get to choose what age to work with usually. Whereas with your own child it's baby to adult, every age and stage.

You are not being with one child for 20 years, the same child. At the end of the school year, they move on and you get new ones.

Besides, for some of us, working with kids helped us see past the "kodak moments" and got us saying NO WAY!

I leave the child-rearing to people who feel called to it. I've never felt that call.
