Trust me BillieCat - I have become much more visible since turning 35 than I was before :-) I also dress better now -more comfortable with who I am...

That is great news!
Instead of thinking it is a downward spiral, we all should feel as if we are getting better and sexier! And wiser, of course..

So true ladies. We are wiser, sexier and more confident as we get older.

Keep telling me that! I'm nearly 43 and am still in denial that I've passed the big 4-0 mark. In my head I'm still 32! (now if my knees would just believe it...)

Isn't 40 the new 20? And what the heck does that mean, anyway? I think it means that there are a bunch of 40-year-olds who need to stop acting like 20-year-olds.

Well, my 40s have been the best years of my life.
My 20s and 30s certainly had some highlights and happy times but there was also, lots of stress and hard work.
In my 40s I'm established, have a great work/play balance, take time to look after and nurture myself, enjoy time with family and friends - and it's true, there is a confidence and calmness that comes with age.
Someone said that men age better - I think that's true for some men in their 40s and 50s but I think women really race past men in their 60s and older....
Go into any retirement village or nursing home...something I really noticed when my parents-in-law moved into a retirement community.
I think there has never been a better time to be an "older" woman - look at all the fabulous examples we have around us....my mother is 75 and goes to gym regularly - she enjoys lifting weights and taking exercise classes - she has a radiance and energy about her that is inspiring - sadly, so many people stop living or trying new things because they think "they're too old" - I think staying fit and healthy and having a positive and youthful outlook is the secret.

I have to say that I love being in my 30's! I am way happier, comfortable with myself and how I look and much less confused. Also, I don't stress nearly as much as I did 10 years ago!

Okay, as long as there aren't a bunch of 40-year-olds running around in low-rise jeans and crop tops and wearing their daughters' clothes.

I have a coworker who is in fantastic shape (she is a personal trainer) but she is always bragging about how she always wears her teenaged daughters' clothes. You say "nice top" and she says, "oh, thanks, it's Molly's." You compliment her shoes and she says, "thanks, they're actually Susie's."

A few weeks, huh, Lynette? Looks like you've got about a six month head start. Let me know what 27 feels like, will ya? wink

I teased my fiance unmercifully when he hit 30 last year. He's waiting for his revenge...
