New Tank Update:

Today, I got my new tank going with the new filter up and running! It already looks great even though there is nothing but gravel in the bottom, lol

But it is already at a good start and the filter works great!

Will update again soon!!

Just thought I would tell you about my experience the other day at the local pet shop. I went in to get some aquarium salt to try to help my poor sick hue. The salesman asked me what I wanted it for and I told him my betta was ill and I was hoping it would help him recover. His reply was " well that's a wast of money, you should just flush the fish down the toilet and buy a new one. It will only cost $1 more than you're paying for the salt. " I left without buying the salt. I went to another pet shop and got the salt for my hue.

Good for you ozsan for refusing to patronize a business who employs such calouse dunderheads.

I cannot even come up with a reply to something like that, I would be tempted to slug the sucker though and I would complain. -shudders- ohhhh, that makes me so mad for someone to say something like that.

Rusty is doing well, he is acting like a brat though. All he does is lay around. He got a lot of attention saturday night though because my parents threw me a surprise party for my 21st bday (the 12th) and everyone was in my room looking at.................. MY 30 GALLON TANK!!!!!!!!! YAY!!! My boyfriends parents bought me a brand new 30 gallon tank so I don't have to re-silicone and deal with the old one! My boyfriend got me all this stuff! Next sunday Rusty will have new friends accross the room! YAY!

Oooohhh, that sounds pretty sweet! Some day I'll have the space/money/time for something that big...

And <img src="/images/graemlins/mad.gif" alt="" /> at that guy at the pet store! Know what I say to that? If you keep buying a new fish every time yours gets sick, you'll pay a lot more in replacements than you do for one little thing of salt! Wow I've missed out on a lot in the last few days lol. I'm sorry about your fish Mashi, you sound like a great betta Mom.
Isaac I think it's great you're so excited about the new tank.
Oszan I think if it were me I would've plopped the salt in the salesman's hands and said "you're right I don't need to buy this salt... from you!" Grrr.

sad to say Hue died last night. My poor baby. I don't think I'll be replacing him for a while, I'm too upset.

I'm so sorry to hear about Hue, Ozsan. Hopefully your sadness will start to fade soon, it is a hard thing to lose something you care for.
