I like ancient Greece,the American Civil War era, and Colonial America.

I also love WWII history. We recently went to Washington, DC and toured the International Spy Museum. There was a lot of great info there on WWII. We also went to the Holocaust Museum. One thing I found heartening at the Holocaust Museum is a wall of names with little stories about those who tried to help the Jews. They were just individuals trying to do the right thing and many of them were arrested or killed as well.

I really wouldn't say I have a favorite period. I would say my love is for American History in general which I absoulutly love. For some reason I could never get into European history or classical history.

American History IS really interesting and very accessible. I see you live in CA. Have you been to any of the gold mining towns or to Sacramento to see the historical things there?

I used to live in Southern Oregon and there is lots of gold mining history there. The little town of Jacksonville is a restored mining town with a huge music festival (the Britt) every summer.
