Tahiti is on my list of places to see before I die. You painted a wonderful picture of it. Is it very expensive to fly there? What is the average price of hotels?

At the Intercontinental Resort Tahiti, rooms overlooking the lagoon are in the $450--$550 range, and the overwater bungalows are from $600 up. Prices are per room, but do not include breakfast. Look for special rates on airfare from New York -- I have seen specials as low as $800 round trip.
