It's not a question of support. it was a question of pointing something out that perhaps had not been considered by others. I have nothing against Mr. Robbins, and I learnt a great deal by reading several on-line reviews, and the comments and quotations pasted by Hollyelise. There were already some of these quotations i did not entirely agree with, but this has got nothing to do with support or approval.
It's just opinion.
isn't that permitted?
For example, Holly said this:
"What did you think of that last quotation, about there being a price for every goal, and that we can't reach the goal if we aren't willing to pay the price?"
(My italics)
This is not exactly what the original quotation is saying. It's not that you CAN'T reach your goals if you don't, it's that if you do not consider the "price to be paid", your goals may not be as rewarding as they first seemed....
here it is again. I have underlined the pertinent apposite phrase....
"Bunker Hunt, the Texas oil billionaire, was asked once if he had any piece of advice he could give people on how to succeed. He said that success is simple. First, you decide what you want specifically; and second, you decide you're willing to pay the price to make it happen---and then pay that price. If you don't take that second step, you'll never have what you want in the long term. I like to call the people who know what they want and are willing to pay the price to get it "the few who do" versus "the many who talk." I challenge you to play with this material, to read it all, to share what you learn, and to enjoy it."What he means is that, if you don't realise you have to pay the price, the goal you achieve will be short-term, because once you see what price you have to pay you might then change your mind.
When some see just what sacrifices are necessary to achieve a goal, they either change their goals, or do not rejoice in their achievements.
This is Karma in action.
I said in my first post that this book seems like anchient teachings re-cycled, and this explains my point.
Do you see what I mean?
