How much coffee do you drink in a day and how much do you think is too much?

Great question!
I don't think it's ever been determined...
(heehee, speaking as a coffee-addict!)
I have two or three cups a day, in the mornings to get me going. I love good coffee, organic Black Mayan is my current fave, and I gotta tell ya, I don't think I could ever get enough of it! (if I never had to sleep, that is!)

Not so long ago... back in graduate school... I practically lived on the stuff.

Now, I've cut myself back to no more than 1 large mug in the a.m. and one in the p.m. Tho, I guess if you measure in ounces, that's really more like 4 "cups" of coffee.

Erk!

During the week I drink about 2 (looks at mug on the desk) 10 oz. cups between 8 am and noon. Occasionally depending on the work load in the afternoon I will get a half of mug. On the weekends when I do my writing time, I have tea cups that I use for coffee and I drink maybe 3 sometimes 4 depending on kids, husband, and what I am working on. I have no clue how much is too much. I know I have too much when my stomach starts to hurt.

I must drink one cup a month, if that. In fact, I will more often than not have a roast barley/chicory coffee substitute. The last time I drank a real honest-to-goodness coffee was in Italy, in April....

I drink more tea though: green, white, various herbals and Earl Grey.

I generally drink one cup a day unless I want to wake myself up for a task or meeting. I used to drink much more. I need my one cup, but I also enjoy it very much.

Alexandra, how was the coffee in Italy?

DawnEagle, the organic Black Mayan sounds rich!

Hi Gayle,
The organic Black Mayan is a dark roast coffee, almost an expresso. It's wonderful! And can actually be found in bulk at many grocery stores.

2-3 cups a day is considered a "healthy" amount according to recent research smile
