The nice thing about that article is that is written by a mother who DID go through hell with her delivery, but did so because she was a PBC.

An article appeared in our local newspaper about 8 months ago on the front page of the inside "Local" section about the CF lifestyle. It seems as if the choice to be CF is not as hush-hush as it used to be -- almost a taboo subject. Is that a trend that others see that have been more observant of such things?

I read part of this somewhere before. I think it's great that the woman doesn't see her life before child (bc, which ironically is also the abbreviation for birth control LOL) as meaningless or all leading up to the optimum experience of giving birth. Kudos to her for speaking out about the mommy cult. Pushing motherhood is alot of like trying to convert someone, which she alluded to in the article. It just turns people off, and doesn't lead to the desired result.

Finally, somebody is writing about the logic involved in making child-related decisions!

[HEAVY sarcasm on]
Logic? Child-related decisions? Don't you know that you're not supposed to apply logic to such truly instinctual, motherly desires and subjects? You can't trust your own feelings, because you are too dumb to know your true path in life. You need to listen to everyone else's opinion first, because it is obvious they know a whole lot more about your life, your situation, your medical history, your feeilngs, and your desires and dreams than you do.
[HEAVY sarcasm off]

The sad part is.... that is what others really, truly mean when they say something. frown
