Okay, there's something I gotta ask!
I am totally confused, I know I haven't finished the game but I had to read this topic!
Well, I know about how Tidus is a dream and all that ... but if he is a dream how does he live in Spira, I mean, Wakka, Yuna and the rest of them can see him... isn't that weird?
And how can a dream fight, if you know what I mean... he is the Fayth's dream, so how does he control himself, he is not 'alive' so's to speak.
I am probably not making much sense but I had to try and explain myself.

The Fayth said that as Tidus and Jecht had been touched by Sin, they became more than just dreams. Which would explain how they could fight and interact etc...

Tidus was from the dreamland, at the same time as the story is set in, and Sin somehow found its way there, so it could find him. We know Jecht could control Sin a little, such as when he listened to the Hymn in Macalania. In the Spira world, the real Zanarkand was destroyed by Sin after a war, and there had been no war in Tidus' world, so he wasnt from the real one. *That make sense? Thought not!*

I just completed the game for the first time last night, and that ending is just one of the most depresing there has been in FF. Hmmmm. But it was one of the best too. The Ject, Auron and Tidus scenes before Braska's final Aeon (which sucked btw) were great.

And as for the bit with Tidus in the water, Im not even gonna try and explain what i thought about that.

Tidus came from the Zanarkand before there was a war. That's why he didn't know about the war yet. It hadn't begun yet.

Tidus wasnt a dream, he was summoned from a dream. when the faith died the summoning stopped so all the ppl and buildings from Zanarkand disappeared.
I dont really know what the faith meant when he said tidus was more than a dream but if tidus thought he meant he wouldnt disapear then he wouldnt have known that he would after he killed yu yevon.

what I dont get is why all the faith died when yu yevon died, and why did I have to kill off all my aeons at the end?

I thought the Ending to the Game was very Poor and to cryptic. I was expecting more to the final story than what I saw, and I just have to say im very disappointed in Square.

I think it is a good ending and I think it leaves the door open for a sequel !
I would really love to see the same characters again and find out how they all are.

I think that Tidus is still in Spira because he wakes up in the water and as the Fayth said, he is more than a dream now. Although this theory doesn't explain why Tidus became transparent and why he saw Jecht, Auron and Braska.

Very strange and confusing, there doesnt seem to be any real explanation... yet...

I'm sure that Tidus is dead! The scene with Auron, who was sent to the Farplane before by Yuna, Braska,Tidus and Jecht was talking itself! Also I liked that Jecht gave his hand to his son! They were in touch...that's a clue!

*!THE REASON HE SWIMS AT THE END!*

.................................................................

i dont know if tidus is dead, but i know that he didnt die the night he killed sin.
and i have now found out why at the end you see tidus swim up to the screen.
if you go back to the temple of macalania a second time, kill dark shiva then run away from the guardo and come back. then go into the chamber of the faith and the faith will tell you "you too will disapear when the dreaming ends" "let us summon a new dream, a sea where you can swim" thats far from the exact words of what she said but you can only see it once and i dont remember the exact words. i might go back to last save and do it again if i have time.
what im trying to say is they didnt stop dreaming, they just got bored of that same dream... or maybe summoning a sea with no buildings is less work. i dont know but this is why you see him swimming at the very end.

Long live Lord Tidus!

I don't know, that'd be pretty depressing if he's now in a giant water-world without people!

I think stonedmonkey is right when he says there is a new sea to swim in for Tidus. Shiva did say that there would be a new sea. Indeed, they speak about change. They have to learn how to change and to keep on dreaing the same dream does not really change much. At least that's what I think.

And about stonedmoneky's question as to why you have to kill your Aeons: well, we wouldn't want Yu Yevon merging with an Aeon to form another Sin, would we now? The game explains that Yu Yevon merges with an Aeon to form another Sin. Hence killing your Aeons means that there is no way of Yu Yevon to form another Sin. This is very typical of organizeg religions in the real world: they create a system that keeps on supporting itself. The Maesters say the the Final Summoning is the only way to kill Sin but it is also the way Sin is reborn. Get rid of all the Aeons and there is no way for Sin to be reborn.
