Hi Babyquaker...Sounds like you guys have a great community down there in Maryland!! As an Interfaith Minister, I have friends from all religions.. and some of them are Christians. In fact, my mom was a very devoted Christian who never had an unkind word to say about anyone.

So, I am not anti Christian.. never have been... people are not the titles they give themselves, they are who they present themselves to be. I have met some pretty judgmental people from all walks of life, as well as some very precious ones.

I am very content in my choice of faith.. and I don't feel that I need to follow any the 'rules' of other faiths in order for my soul to go wherever it is supposed to go..lol.

Heaven is not my choice of an afterlife, basically because I am not Christian. I would prefer to go to Summerland and be with the Goddess. And, I believe that our afterlife, just like the life that we live here is what we create it to be.. even more so most likely.

In Love and in the Light..

Hi Freebubbles... It is the Pagan equivlent to Heaven.. But instead of God, the Goddess presides..and there is no Jesus or Peter, Paul or Mary.. just good ole Pagan folk! There is no judgement there and noone is ever sent to Hell.. Nice place actually.

If there is an afterlife, I just want to be where the animals are! To me, that would be paradise.

Patience.

Facts are stubborn things; and whatever may be our wishes, our inclinations, or the dictates of our passions, they cannot alter the state of facts and evidence.

Patience, I saw an old Twilight Zone where an old hunter and his dog were out in the woods hunting when his dog chased an animal onto a fallen tree over a creek. The dog fell in after the critter and the old hunter went in to save him. In the morning he woke up and went home, to find out they had died. They went to heaven, or summerland, or SOMEWHERE that wasn't really named on Twilight Zone, and the old hunter and his dog walked down a peaceful country road, lined with trees and white fence.

The first gate, massively ornate, they came to had a very pleasant, grinning, well dressed man that welcomed them and told him to go on in. The hound dog started backing up, growling, and pulling on his master. When the old hunter said "come on boy", the very pleasant, well dressed man said "Oh, NO, dogs are not allowed through the gate". The hunter said to forget it, he wasn't going anywhere that animals were not allowed, where he couldn't hunt and fish, so he continued to walk on down the road.

Soon, he came to a second gate where a gentle, smiling, plain dressed man welcomed him and his dog and told them that he had been waiting for them. He told the old hunter that he was glad that he and his hound dog did not have trouble "down" at the other gate. The old hunter said they would not let him let him take his dog in. The "gentle" man said it was NOT that they would not ALLOW dogs, but that the dog could TELL that it was a BAD place and would stop his master from going in! The hunter told the man at the gate that he would never stay anywhere that didn't allow his old hound dog! wink

It was really a GOOD show. So I don't think you have to worry. I believe my cat, your dogs, birds, horses, butterflies,...all the beautiful things we love will be with us!! It WILL indeed be paradise! smile

The most hurtful words I have heard are:

Fundie
xian
Bible thumper
blind
follower
narrow minded
attacker
quack
unenlightened
elementary
ignorant
foolish
lied to
misdirected
unintelligent
stupid
antiquated
hate monger
etc...

just because of what I believe.

If this is a forum open to all beliefs, why not just say "thank you" when someone wants to consult their God on your behalf regardless of what you personally believe in? I think it's the nicest thing anyone could do for someone.

xtian is usually not meant to be a hurtful word. Jews, sometimes I am guilty of this, will not write out the word as a sign of respect to your messiah. I know it's weird... but thought I should put that out there on that at least.

I think it's all in context. X being the Greek chi, X-mas therefore abbreviating chi sigma tau mu alpha sigma, or Christmas, (I wish this board had Greek fonts!) I don't neccesarily see it as disrespectful. But if someone has already identified themselfves as Christian-hostile, their use of X will seem derogatory. Kind of like the rules for using the n-word.

Hi Jenna.. Why would anyone want to consult their God on my behalf without my permission first? That would seem to me to be an invasion of spiritual privacy.

Love and Light...

Well Linda Its like if you say Best wishes Blessed Be Good Luck or whatever we say We will Pray for you Its just our way of saying we care!!

I can also see how you could get offend by someone saying I will pray for you ...to see things my way or believe the way I do!! and I think that is wrong!!

I have to Disagree with you Jenna your list of words like bible thumber, holy roller, xtian I take those as a complement!!! also old fashioned, old aged, and those like these dont bother me!!

But i will agree that hate spreaded, Jehovas Witless, stupid and norrow minded, and those tend to tic me off!!!

I dont agree with the LETS SALE GOD DOOR TO DOOR or the YOU ARE ALL GOING TO HELL way of thinking!!! I dont like anyone comeing to my door with your going to hell if you dont think act and believe this way and only this way so I will not do it to other!! I just dont like being lumped into the same group as those "christians" I Just dont believe this is the way to act or represent God to other christians or even none christians!!

Jase thanks for explaning the G_d thing I wondered why you did that!!!

Nechochwen, I didnt know there was rules for the n word!!! lol I thought it was a dont word all the way around!!!
