In truth, I felt somewhat awkward in bringing my thoughts into the open, knowing that such exposure would certinly raise many sensitive issues.
But I have to emphasise to you, Skyhaven, that we're all very much on your side, and want you to feel as good about yourself as I personally know is possible.

Those of us who have been in similar situations as you have no right to judge you for staying or leaving. It will take a long time to heal. I stayed with my abuser for 5 years before I left for good. But it took many people to stick by my side while I left and to help keep me away. Anytime you need someone to talk to we are here on this forum or you can send Private messages to people if they have that option set in their profile!

Jeanette's right....it takes a long time to heal, but you've taken many steps towards it already and it does get easier even if at times it doesn't seem like it. In times of doubt, we'll be glad to remind you! YOU ARE WORTH IT!
