The problem I have is that both my sister-in-law and her boyfriend are white Anglo-Saxon adults, and he wants to name my nephew Marcello or Antonio.

I will feel just horrible for my nephew if he is named after an ethnicity that he is not part of. Why would anyone want to give their child an ethnic name that does not fit in with their heritage? I am truly worried he will be teased by his peers when he is older.

I think you are not only wrong, but focused on the wrong thing. Many Anglo-Saxons have first names that are Italian, German, French, you name it. I think when people talk about "the wrong name" for a child they are referring to weird names like those of the Hogg sisters from Texas, who were named Ima and Yura.
