I should clarify that the article indicates the parents did this on purpose. They kept increasing this child's meds and she was having seizures. The dosages they were giving her went beyond what the doctor recommended. It was no accident.

yeah, guys, this was murder. The little girl literally curled and died on her parents floor. THey wouldn't get her medical attention even when other people in the family demanded it. Instead, they gave her more meds.

Everyone around her failed this little girl. I recommend that you don't read many articles related to the story because the details are almost impossible to get out of your mind. The story of her last 2 weeks alive is absolutely horrific.

Sorry for your loss, but I rest my case ...

I work with children with severe disabiliteis and I can tell you many of the parents do not want to deal with these kids and were not prepared. I used to have more sympathy for the parents because hte kids are difficult, most are functioning at a below 1 year old range are in diapers and have severe physical needs and they are teens. However, I have seen some kids so mistreated that I cant have much sympathy. One of my students who can walk and is toilet trained but cannot talk was obviously having some serious health issues. He would clutch his stomach and cry. Our school nurse called hte prents repeatedly and they just said he was fine. When they finally brought him to the doctor he nearly died due to a bleeding ulcer. This is not a unique story. I try not to judge parents to much becuse I dont have kids but parents who really abuse and neglect their kids I can judge. I truly feel that if you cannot face the prospect of a disabled child then you should not have children. Parents are so busy trying to make little einsteins they dont think what they will do if something goes wrong with their child.
