Oh my.. With my luck I will pass the test somehow and be escorted through Heaven's Gates. I might be the only one trying to climb over the fence and escape.

I guess heaven for some is hell for others.

Love and Light..

Oooo! Linda - this may need to start a whole 'nother discussion, but your comment made me think of something.

I read an interesting book one time (I can't remember the name of the book - but the visuals have stuck with me). And part of it was about what Hell would be like. Kind of along the same lines as the movie "What Dreams May Come" w/ Robin Williams.

Anyway... each person's hell was like an individual "bubble" occupied solely by that one person - and it was the torment of their worst imagining. So if fire and brimstone was the worst torment to them then that would be their home for eternity - but the worst thing was that they would suffer it alone for forever, because we as man can (usually) find hope and comfort in one another. But it was interesting that the biggest part of the torture was the aloneness, not the actual pain.

OK, you can put this somewhere else if you want - but there was a mention of hell in that last post! whistle

Looks like you blew this one Texas Dave... good job!!

You got someone to say that not only will they NEVER accept Christ but that they even doubt the existance of God and hell.

I'm reminded of the scene in the movie "Bruce Almighty" when Jim Carrey is stretching out his arms trying to make Jennifer Anniston love him. You can't make someone love and accept Christ by bullying them into it. Jesus' message was just that, make your own life a sacrifice and lead by example with love, not the tactics of the pharisees. You have become the perfect example... of how NOT to evangelize.

JESUS DOESN'T HOLD UP A STANDARD, HE HOLDS UP A MIRROR AND SAYS REFLECT ME!

Hi Michelle.. I just have to say that you have the one of the most beautiful faces I have ever seen.. It shines with the light of spirit from within. Thou art a beautiful and loving Goddess.

I totally agree that hell is what you make it to be. I love the movie "What Dreams May Come." I can relate to the whole abstract principle of heaven and hell. If we create our own reality here on Earth, which we do, and we are willing to accept the responsibilies and the consequences of our actions, why would the afterlife be any different?

Perhaps the only difference is that unlike our third dimensional world where thought and manifestation have a time gap between them, thought and manifestation without being in a body or in a world where density reigns, would be instantaneous.

I like to think perhaps that may be so. My idea of heaven is lying naked in a vat of warm chocolate..lol...

I must make a statement here.. just so as to avoid confusion.. I am not an atheist. Far from it in fact. I do believe in a higher power, and I fully believe that when I end this life I will return to that higher power. I have seen it. I died when I was in my twenties and I experienced an agape love that I will never forget. I also know that for me that source was feminine.

Love and Light...

Hi there..Don't be upset with Dave. He really didn't say anything that changed my mind. I have never believed in the existence of the Biblical God, Heaven, Hell or Satan. I have always honored Jesus as a great teacher and healer, but not a savior.

Dave did not influence that whatsoever. I actually do enjoy his posts. But, I do agree with you that bullying someone into believing is not the answer. And, I totally agree that love is ALWAYS the answer.

I have been reading your site, and I see in you a loving attitude and grace that in my opinion reflects the message that Jesus was trying so hard to get across. I see you as a true messenger and a true "Christian." And believe me, coming from an Unitarian Universalist Pagan Buddhist, that is a tribute..lol

All we can hope is that some of your understanding rubs off on our Dave. He is trying the best he knows how.

Love and Light.. and thank you for caring...

What is the difference between savior and son of God?

Well Dave.. You warned me about hell and I decided that I wanted to go there... I am really serious... not joking here. If what you say is true, than the people I love the most in this world are going to hell, the men and women I have most admired in this world for their wisdom, gentleness and guidance are going to hell, and most of the world is already there.

I think that Satan got a bum rap. He didn't kill anyone, he didn't threaten anyone, basically he was one of us. He had his good days and his bad days. But, all in all, what did he do that was so very wrong that he wound up in an eternity of misery? He challenged God. What kind of deity would do that to someone who challenged him?

I do not, and I stress do not, want to go to the biblical version of heaven, and I refuse to do so. I refuse to acknowledge the biblical God, and I will not receive anyone or anything as my savior.

I choose Satan and I choose Hell. I do so with clarity and understanding about that choice. If God, heaven, hell and Satan exist.. which in my estimation they do not, I will go willingly through the gates of hell as my ancestors did before me. You can have your heaven, but just like the millions of people on this earth that refuse to see and do anything about world hunger, war, and the destruction of this planet, you and yours can look down upon us and pray for our souls. That, my friend, is the easy way out. Maybe one of you ought to talk to God about relaxing his rules and regulations a bit. Not a whole lot of us are willing to sacrifice our dignity to gain entrance into a elite country club type heaven, nor do we wish to do so.

Love and Light..

Joke....

A man goes to Heaven, but he's a trifle early, due to a miscalculation by the anaesthetist, so st. peter decided to show him round, before official admission procedures take place...
off they go, on a stroll around the place...

"Over there", explains St P., ..."are the Moslems..poor things, they're not quite sure which way to face 5 times a day now, but otherwise, they're a fairly jolly lot....and over here, we have the jews. Very funny...very self-depracating, and now they know who jesus is, they're all making up new jokes about themselves. We've put them in charge of finance...
"And there are the buddhists...they never stop grinning, bowing and all of them are as bald as coots, and insist on sitting cross-legged, which can be hard on a cloud, but they do quite well..."
"What's that wall there?" asks the new conscript.
"SHHHHHH!! Not so loud!" beseeches St peter, whispering, "That's the catholics...."
"But why the wall?" continues the visitor...
St Peter explains, laughing,

"They like to think they're the only ones here...."

I think that goes for a lot of Deistic religions.... all playing musical chairs, all jostling for the same seat....!

LOL Alexandra... I have one too... Two Pagans died and went to Summerland. The Goddess met them at the gates. As they toured Summerland, they saw beautiful mountains and valleys, lakes and streams, and everyone was having fun and enjoying the many blessings of the Goddess. But, out in one of the fields there were two figures dressed in black, writhing in agony.

"Who are they?" asked one of the Pagans.

"Oh them", replied the Goddess, "They are Christians who think they are in hell".

Sorry if that offends anyone.. I just had to do it!

Love and Light..
