waterking - what a great idea! Safety and strength in numbers! It's so important to recognize that healthy eating choices and working out consistently are the key to being healthy and feeling good about ourselves. If we make a pattern of eating right, we will be able to treat ourselves. We can cut back on things like soda without completely cutting them out, and feeling deprived. We can all do it and celebrate together in the spring <img src="/images/graemlins/smile.gif" alt="" />

I'm in. I just gave up our YMCA membership since we're moving...I have a treadmill at my house. Are you ready for this? I misplaced the key!! I moved it up "high" to keep my 4 year old from getting it..LOL

Now I just have to locate it. I need to start walking everyday.

Count me in! I am actually going back on my weight loss program on Wednesday. I will start exercising again once I get clearance from my doctor.

I'm in, but motivation is not as high as could be. Too much stress in my life right now. But, I have started a walking routine. I need to lose a good 30 pounds... but, be really happy with 20.

Maybe we should all share "how" we are going to lose weight. For example: Calorie Counting, Atkins, South Beach, Weight Watchers etc.

Absolutely!!!!

I just posted the other day in the Body Care Forum. Lisa, an editor is trying out Slimquick, a combination of a pill, an eating and exercising program. I found this site while searching imformation on Slimquick after I had started the program three days earlier. It is a pill designed specifically for women. I did a lot of research and posted some interesting things I learned. Please feel free to read and comment.

I think this is a great place to be accountable and find support. I found my motivation in simply educating myself about food and exercise. I am psyched. Please read my story. I think this is the perfect time of year to start successfully losing weight and having enough time to do it safely by spring. It is not a diet, it is a lifestyle change; Acknowledging that is key to having success!!!!

Having support for each other and making the lifestyle change as opposed to crash dieting is so important. We should share tips about how to stay active, keep exercise exciting and fun, and help each other when it gets tough.

I have tried South Beach in the past, but I'm now into my own sort of diet -- trying to keep portions low, veggies and good-for-you foods up, and limiting sweets (but allowing myself to eat them as a treat).
