Hi! I just want to know if Trichomonas vaginalis can be transfered in any other way except sexually, and how if not by intercourse. Thanks!

Trichomonas is considered an STD. There is no other commonly accepted means by which it is transmitted. Please cut and paste link below into your browser for more information.

HELP, HELP, HELP Doctor,

IS there an ALTERNATIVE TO METRODINOZOLE, I am allergic.

i got infected with Trich in August. GOt treated with Flagyl for 7 days. I had a bad reaction (HIVES, tingling fingers)

A month later (September) I was rediagnosed. My partner was not being faithful. My new doctor thought i had a strain of resistant trich. It is now December and she sent my samples to CDC and I am still not treated. I have been trying holistic means.

HELP. I do not want to mess my fertility, I am young and look forward to having kids. I also want to go to another doctor.

Tinidazole is a potentail option in Flagyl-resistant cases. It is available from Panorama Pharm 800-247-9767 (your doctor must request it). Your doctor did the right thing sending your specimen to the CDC. That was the appropriate next step. I am not sure how easy it will be to get Tinidazole, but my drug reference does list it as an alternative.

Trich is not in the same category as gonorrhea and chlamydia when it comes to reducing fertility, so you may take a deep breath.

Best wishes,
Doctor Maria
