Say, what happened with the fish for seniors plan?

I told a psychologist I know about it and she offered to make a contribution if it happens. fish She's an animal lover and thinks you have a wonderful idea.

Nann

I haven't yet gotten any connections concerning that. There is lots going on right now for me churchwise....in process of finding a new chruch home. When we get settled in the right one I'll look further into that possibility and I will let you know!

I really do love this idea and hope you do it. And I wanted to mention that if you don't have enough mason jars or whatnot, that plastic party cups are just fine for young fry. I've used them as necessary, and while it's boring for the fishies, it's just temporary lodgings.

I took bunches of photos last night of my fish -- the digital camera automatically adjusted the color so even Pinky looks blue! I could not come close to getting a photo of Grapel that shows his true color. He looks fish not purple. Maybe the fact that it was night influenced it. I don't know.

But, I did move Speedy out of Grapel's vase -- the water was way too cloudy, and I changed water, put in salt and bettafix to be sure the change of water didn't stress him out too much. eek

He looked happy this am, so I guess I did good.

Jilly,

I had actually considered that possibility with the plastic cups..It may just be a good idea too as far as containers to send them to thier new homes in, so I don't have to loose all my good walmart bowls...as long as the new owners quickly get a better home for them.

I have ta say...poor F'lar just hasn't been the same since I removed him from his little babies. I think he is pining oO(pinning?..pineing?..oh heck!) away poor fella. He really isn't sick that I can tell, fins look great, good color.....just mopes around in Jax's aquascene. I put him in there for the warmer temps..Jax is in the double betta hex and doing fine there. Wonder if he'll snap out of it soon.

Is F'lar anywhere near another male or female? It might help him feel better to be a macho fish again instead of a daddy.

Yeah Nann...he's next to my opaque female "Pearl". He hangs around and stares at her like any other male of any species.. ...but he is still mopey.

I imagine he'll get over sooner or later.

Emg,

I think change is difficult for these fish. Sweetie still is moping around even with 2 guys competing for her attention. She colors up occasionally, but mostly is brownish with her sad black stripes. I do talk to her as often as I can, and my cat checks her out frequently.

Nann...I bet your cat does !

I did put a frog in with F'lar to keep him company...he completely ignores it...doesn't seem to notice it's presence at all. But...he does "flare" his finnage just about all the time...so he can't be feeling that bad!
