Well, I must say I've gotten some really GREAT stuff on Ebay, many sellers are very honest. And as a collector of many things, Ebay has been the only place I can find some things.

If you study how to buy on ebay, and have a little bit of knowledge how sellers work, you can usually spot a scam, or other dishonest sellers.

My favorite yarn seller ever is an ebay seller. I get such Fabulous yarn in spools at rock-bottom prices. Yarn like chenelle, 100 % wool, loopy yarn and eyelash up to 5 pound spools for as little as $5. FAST shipment and very honest seller. She combines shipping and handling for more than one purchase too.

So it helps to search out what you want, know your market, learn strategies, and be a little brave with your faith in humanity when you buy from a new seller.

i agree with bagpipes, i have also got a ton of stuff on e-bay that i never would have found here, and i love the ease of it, only have to send a Money order and they send me the goods. don't have to mess with the stores or anything(well i do tend to haunt craft stores!!! ) but i do buy a lot off of e-bay. i didn't think i would like it but i love it. and have never been burned, just have to watch who you buy from and also see how the feedback is. have a great night. merwyn :rolling:

I am an occasional ebay shopper also and it does depend on WHAT it is for example I have paid a high price for some of my antique books but I look at it as an investment. I personally would not pay that for a new book, but if it was an old one that I would add to my collection, yes I would. I think I paid $20.00 for the Crochet Workbook by James Walters but believe me it was worth every penny. If you ever see that book, grab it, it does have just about everything and more that you need to know about crochet.

Thanks for sharing, bagpipes.

I have bought things, patterns mostly, on ebay and have been pleased. My only bad experience was with the lace ponchos from England. Then I was charged double for the s/h and when I inquired about shipping together, I was told no they had to come seperately and sign of each one. Well, you guessed it, they came together. Oh well, I'm still learning and one bad apple isn't going to spoil the whole basket, for me anyway.

I recently bid on a beautiful pattern for a shawl and so far it is only up to $4.26.

Here is the pattern I bid on. Do you gals think it is worth the 5 bucks I bid on it?

Grammy - did you leave a negative feedback for that person regarding the shipping?

That is a very pretty vest!!

I won't go above $5 dollars for the shawl pattern but I would love to be able to make it (I might need to get a lil better first)
