I recently found a beautiful deck called the Tarot of Dreams illustrated by Ciro Marchetti, the artist who did the Gilded Tarot.

I usually read with the Mythic Tarot, which references Greek Mythology.

Blessings,
Donna

I just discovered the Spiral Tarot, and I so enjoy the colors and depth of content. There is also a heavy emphasis on Cabbalistic influence, but I have little knowledge of those aspects other than some reading I've done. I find that the Spiral Tarot connects very nicely with my own intuitive reading as well as following a familiar Rider-Waite format that makes them easily accessible to a large audience. The Robin Wood deck and the Sacred Circle deck are also favorites for similar reasons.

For seeking personal insights within my inner landscape, I use either the Motherpeace deck, or the Ellen Cannon Reed Witches Tarot. For just a fun and lighthearted reading, you can't beat the Cosmic Tribe deck.

Some books I've found helpful are Tarot for the Green Witch and Rachel Pollack's 78 Degrees of Wisdom. The bottom line is that using my own intuition always provides the richest and most helpful readings.

As to whether the Tarot can predict the future, I agree, to some extent, with the comment that the combination of our mental, emotional, psychological, etc. input is what provides the insights of the Tarot. However, I also accept the psychic aspects of a reader's input so I do believe that the Tarot can be a way to access the points of probability for our future. In other words, yes, the Tarot can "predict" what our future may hold, based on the choices we make which a good reading will illustrate for us. To me, there are no "wrong" choices, only different ones that lead us on differing paths so the Tarot shouldn't be able to lead one "astray".

Using the Tarot for whatever purposes one may choose can be an enriching experience in terms of showing a picture of where we've been, where we are, and where we may be heading. And no, I do not believe that there is any inherent "evil" in Tarot, just as the mindset, purpose, and degree of care and control used from one who uses a Talking Spirit Board (Ouija being one of them) will determine the content of any messages. Go into the reading with an open mind, seeking only the highest good, and what you receive will be a reflection of that.

i like the rider waite deck the most (since i am starting to collect decks now). it is true... the deck grows on you for some reason, the images are like very close to the marcaille deck which i am dying to have. tarot decks don't come cheap here in the philippines smile and so far the people i read to responded positively to this deck. i also have the manga tarot by lo scarabeo and the lover's tarot, which are the big and only have the major arcana deck- but a good neophyte deck at the least smile

I've used a number over the years (Morgan Greer and Arthurian etc) but I keep coming back to the RW deck I started with. Don't know if it's because the images are any more deeply meaningful than others, or if it is simply so familiar that I love it. It would be the comfy jeans and sweatshirt version of tarot decks for me.

I really like the Gilded Tarot. For some reason, the images really speak to me! I also enjoy the Mystic Fairy Tarot. The images aren't traditional, but each suit tells a story, so it's easy to remember the card meanings.

I never actually connected with the Rider Waite deck, at all. Though I did enjoy using the Morgan Greer and the Connelly deck for many years.

I like the Moon Garden Tarot Deck, or any other "gentle, peaceful" deck.

I like to look at the Death and Hanged Man cards. If I am comfortable with their images, I will get the deck. If not - I won't. Those two cards make or break a deck for me.

The only deck i have ever been able to use is the Robin Wood Deck. I have been through a lot of them. The closest one after that is The Witches Tarot.

I think the Spirit of the Tarot deck is my fav. Does anyone else use this deck? I think I have asked that before but since there is a new batch of people here.... laugh I had to ask again...
