Gosh! Unless my child (or myself) were the model of this pattern, (or a gadzillionaire) I would NEVER pay this price. If you look at the patterns, any intermediate crocheter could make these up in no time without a pattern.

Do you think perhaps a shill duped the buyer into a bidding war to up the price?

I noticed the buyer has purchased a TON of patterns on Ebay. Interesting.

No way would I pay that. I would want all the patterns already done!

Bagpipes, I believe that does happen on ebay. I was bidding on two lace ponchos from England and the price kept going up, up, away until I finally came to my senses. I would make one, geesh. I left the other bidders take them. About an hour after the bidding was over I got an email, for each one, telling me that the person that won did not want them and would I like to buy them for my highest bid. I said, no thanks............

The next day both ponchos were up for bid again and the lowest bid. So I bid and got them! So then the seller charged me an arm and a leg for shipping but still did not get the money from the day before..............

hi grammygram, that has happened to me before too. i had saw a harley davidson afghan pattern on e-bay and since my hubby is a hog nut, thought i would get it and make it for him for his birthday, well bidding was over 20.00 and i said forget it, the next day i also got a e-mail from the seller saying i could get the pattern for that if i wanted, told her no thanks, a week later it was on for 2.50, bought it then. LOL so i know what you are talking about. some of these sellers are terrible. when i sell on e-bay i am always honest about the patterns and they are always books or magazines(old ones) have a great day. merwyn :music:

Ebay is utter insanity...high way rape! A while back I was looking for Caron Dazzleaire, and was utterly floored with how over priced the stuff was! I figure it's a good thing I don't even mess with E bay! If I can't get it at the store, a yard sale, the red shield, or given to me, then I don't even bother fooling with it, and really don't need or want it THAT badly! - then again, that's just me..
