What it is, is that we've been surpressing our true feelings about kids for years for fear of being hung from the nearest tree. Now that we know there are a whole lot of us out there, we're able to feel more comfortable about our real feelings inside and express them more freely.
We are merely finally letting our true thoughts shine through...is'nt it wonderful :-D ?!

I think I'm getting worse, too. Part of it, I noticed started when I started spending more time on CF forums on the 'web.

But I notice the older i get, the worse I get about it. I'm at the point now where if I hear a kid crying in public, I want to yell "SHUT IT UP!!!!"

If motherhood doesn't interest you, don't do it. It didn't interest me, so I didn't do it. Anyway, I would have made a terrible parent. The first time my child didn't do what I wanted, I'd kill him."

I'm not sure if I'm finally letting myself out now that I've found other CF people, or if all my reading is influencing me, frankly.

Of course, my mom doesn't help; she makes CF-type comments all the time, lol. And it seems they come out of her more the older she gets too...and this is from a woman who likes kids!

I never cared much for kids when I was younger and didn't have my one and only daughter until I was 37. She was the joy of my life and while she was young we did all the kid things and I loved it. Now she's in college and I'm back to not caring so much about kids. Maybe it's just other people's kids I don't care for. My neices and my sister have kids under 5 and family holidays got to be really stressful for those of us who are past the kid thing.

My problem now is that my stepdaughters are having babies and want to move near us so my husband and I can "get to know the grandkids" (ie babysit). Not sure what that's going to be like but I've told my husband if he wants to be involved and babysit all the time, he can go to their houses. I'm not too interested in having my home taken apart at the seams.

I plan on asking the step daughter to have the holidays too and I'll just bring a dish. Then we can leave if it gets to be too much.

I have less tolerance of bad behaviour as I get older, I am 56. However, I don't think it is just an age thing, I think children are more badly behaved now than they were. Thank goodness my daughters are bringing their children up to be polite and respectful of the feelings of others!

[color:"orange"] Today's children are just unruley! Congradulations on your daughters are bringing up their kids right. We need that. More parents doing their job! I commend your daughters! <img src="/images/graemlins/wink.gif" alt="" /> <img src="/images/graemlins/cool.gif" alt="" /> <img src="/images/graemlins/smile.gif" alt="" /> <img src="/images/graemlins/laugh.gif" alt="" /> <img src="/images/graemlins/grin.gif" alt="" /> [/color]
