I guess that's why I feel its so important for us to be good role models to our nieces/nephews. Many of them have never seen their parents or any other couple stay married more than a few years (we're on 12). Many of their parents didn't go to or finish college. They all live in an economically depressed area and mostly have low-end jobs and scrape by. Not that we are rocket scientists or something, but we both have degrees and professional jobs, have a nice little house, take nice vacations, etc. In a word, we're stable, and I think that's good for them to see.

I believe that if you don't want kids, you should NEVER tell people that you can't have them (unless that happens to also be true...). I think it does a disservice to our child free community, which is to be accepted for our CHOICE to be child free!!
