I used to be friends with this girl who let her kid run wild. She brought him with her and her husband one day to see our new house, and he went crazy! I spent the hole time on pins and needles, waiting to see what he'd do next. His mother didnt' do much of anything...all she said was, "Oh, isn't he cute?" I wanted to scream.

Yeah, this couple came over to our house once with their toddler. She found my husband's baseball bat and started walking around the house, swinging it. Her mother saw her, but did NOTHING. My husband had to wrench it from her before she broke something or hurt someone. Then she screamed because he took her new toy away from her.

It's pretty sad when you have to watch someone else's kids, and the parents are RIGHT THERE.

It is sad, and that's what I felt like. Needless to say, we don't have people over to the house with small children anymore. I have a lot of breakables out, and I don't want to worry about something getting smashed!

[color:"blue"] If the brats can't behave, then tell the parunts that no kids are allowed in the house.

If motherhood doesn't interest you, don't do it. It didn't interest me, so I didn't do it. Anyway, I would have made a terrible parent. The first time my child didn't do what I wanted, I'd kill him."

The greatest gift of support I received came from my best friend. She was always very independent, loved to travel and into her career. Some time after she had her baby, she gave me this glazed look and said 'You have NO idea how much your life changes... it becomes ALL about them.... there IS no more YOU'. She also told me that not having children is NOT an anomaly and that it is an individual decision that no one else has a right to make for you. She's a great friend! :-)

[color:"blue"] Congratulations, Orange Monster!

Today I went to the doc for a checkup/pill refill, and my doc was supportive of the childfree. She said that don't have them if you don't want them and not because you should/or are expected to. She's so awesome!!!
