Good Afternoon,
It's funny that you mention sfg because that is exactly what I have taken on and I have become a huge fan of Mel's. I started my garden in July and found out about sfg in August. I have now converted to Mel's Mix and it is fantastic. My boxes are almost 2' x 1', well 550mm x 250mm (22"x10") so they are close enough. I have now arranged it so it is square foot looking, I just need to get some sort of grid and I'm done.
It's interesting how things happen. When I learnt about it in August, I told my friends about it and they have taken it up as a project. I did some advertising for them and made up leaflets and planting guides etc, and they have talked to so many and now these gardens are popping up everywhere because they are so adaptable in this time of drought and use so very little water.
My friends actually gave me a garden bed, on their land, that was 7'x4', to thank me for sharing this method. From what I understand that garden has taken off really well. I havn't done much around there and I havn't eaten from it. It has been a long time since I've gone around. Maybe I should go and visit them again and get that garden working for me as well.
I won't know what to do with all the vegies it'll be great.
