As soon as I get the stuff scanned and uploaded, I'll be sure to share it...(Just haven't made it to Dillon's recently to have that done!- I don't have a scanner..SO, I have them scanned onto floppy discs....)

I'm right handed, but learned how to crochet left handed so I could teach southpaws, too

I read the preface of a book somewhere (don't ask me the name, it escapes me) and when it came down to the left- handed instructions, her suggestion was to learn the right-handed way, it would be easier and more uniform, or something like that.

That's what I call discrimination...LOL...but then again, when I use scizzors, or play guitar I do either right handed...other than that, everything else is lefty all the way!

Hello, I am new here and was looking at the posts and saw this one. I too am a leftie and have never had any problems with crocheting left handed. With some patterns I just do the opposite of what the directions say, especially with the diagram patterns. I am also a threadie, I prefer thread over yarn. Although right now I am using baby yarn to make a few things for my newest grandbaby due in Feb.
My mother, who was left handed, taught me to crochet by sitting next to her. I have taught my youngest neice, who is right handed, by having her sit across from me. She picked it up very quickly and is doing great. The easiest way for a righty or lefty to teach someone who uses the opposite hand is to have them sit across from you. And of course if they use the same hand as you, have them sit next to you. It works. Being left handed has never been a real problem for me, I have always been able to figure out how to do whatever I want to do. When I started school my teacher tried to get me to write right handed but my father put a stop to that by telling her that God made me left handed and if it was good enough for God it was good enough for everyone else. And he was right handed and she was a nun.
Have a great day.
A Proud Leftie,
CarolAnn
