I could see getting a tattoo of a ring if you couldn't wear normal rings all the time, but not a wedding ring. You still get into that area that a tattoo is permanent but the relationship may not be. You can always wear your wedding ring after work. Hell, I'm not an electrician and I don't wear my wedding ring half the time. I just forget to put it back on after putting lotion on or something... And, my husband rarely wears his either... No biggy not to wear it at work if it's a safety issue.
