Right now I have a sweater almost done and I have also started a blanket for my grandson... he's due in Dec. so I have some time. I'll make him hats and mitts too. That should keep me out of mischief for a bit.

There is no such thing as too much yarn, or too many needles!! Or too many knitting bags either.

Hi everyone, I have just signed on to this forum, so I am not sure what I do. I thought I would say hello, and go from there.

Hi jazzyjane46 and welcome - why don't you join in with the Knit Along?

I would be happy to join the baby knit along. I am just finishing a hat for a young girl, and then I will begin something new for my grandson. He is 19 months old and fall is just around the corner here in Canada. I think I may begin a sweater.
Thank you for the invite.

No problem at all, your grandson sounds a cutie! A sweater is a great idea and if you can't design your own Debbie Bliss's baby and children books contain some wonderful patterns, and her yarns aren't usually as expensive as some of the others.

I'm doing a Debbie Bliss pattern right now, and I think they're very well written. Her instructions make sense to a knitter, if you know what I mean. Do any of the larger retailers carry her yarn? I don't think I've seen it in my area.

I think I saw some Debbie Bliss yarn for sale in John Lewis a few days ago (the London department store). It's very easy to obtain online though if you don't have a local stockist.

I have found a cute pattern for a "Toddler Hoodie" that uses Bernat "Cotton Tots" yarn. I am using a multi colour yarn that contains purple/lilac, light blue, bright limey green(I guess) and white. I began the sweater last night and I am quite impressed with its beginnings.
I am a fairly new knitter. I took up the craft when I had a back injury that has kept me unable to work for 4 years. I am retraining now to hopefully be able to do a few hours a day.

Well just to update on my progress - I've been working on Elizabeth Zimmermann's Surprise Jacket and have already had to rip most of it back once because I got the decreases wrong. One line of decreases is still slightly out but it's not too noticeable so I'll leave it. I then had to take back a couple of rows having reknitted most of the ripped out part because I'd forgotten to do one of the decreases and that did show! However I'm now nearly back where I was when I had to rip out.

I finished the baby ponch I was working on

It was quite popular and one mom asked me to make one in white for her baby girl.
I messed up big time on the poncho and the yarn got in a huge knot so bad that I had to cut it so I'm going to try making little bootie/socks for her with the yarn I had to cut.

For now I have to take a break because I am having trouble seeing the white yarn. I am make stuff for my grandma who loves the Denver Broncos. One orange sock and one blue sock and a scarf
