I still have lots of those clear film containers that I just can't make myself get rid of!! Those do work great for seed beads.

Boy can I relate you to all!!! What started out as a nice "easily kept compact" (HA!) hobby is now taking over parts of my house.
I did start out with a small fishing/tackle box, with several removable boxes and sotf sides. Quickly moved to a MUCH larger version. Now were are building a room in the basement just for my crafts. Hopefully it will be at least usable, definitely not finished by Christmas.
I get the cheap cardboard magazine holders and use those to store the beading/knitting/crocheting/spinning magazines that I want to keep. I also use very small post-it flags to mark the pages sometimes writing on them so I can see at a glance what I've got "flagged" for future projects.
Happy Crafting!

So you are getting to plan a room devoted to crafts...that sounds like such fun! My room that I am trying to get the floor refinished in is not very big at all. My second daughter is talking about moving back home and making a new start so my bedroom that I was going to have a beading area in may be a bedroom again.

Depends on the beads, what I'm doing with them, and how they came packaged. Beads that came in tubes are stored upright in coffee and creamer cans. Beads that cane in those rectangular "tubes" are stored with the "tubes" on their side inside small plastic storage bins. Beads that came in small plastic bags are stored together in a larger ziplock bag. Beads being used in an ongoing project are on the windowsill. I use a beading mat to bead, transfering small amounts to it as I work. For travel, individual projects in-the-works go into mint cans with a spare needle or so and nymo, and that and the "stock" tubes go into a one of the same small plastic storage bins mentioned above with scissors, needle-nosed pliers, and the matt.

Howdy all,
New here and just started beading recently. I store my delicas in their original tubes inside Gladware containers. I found a neat item in my local dollar store. A seven day pill containers with 28 compartments. I use it for my projects. I print out the number or letter from my color
chart (I use a bead program,no artistic ability, I need 'paint by numbers') on to a plain shipping label, I can usually get them all on to one or two labels, cut them up and stick them onto the lids of the container.Add the appropriate beads and away I go. It does take a little dexterity to fish the beads out, but give my clumsy habit of knocking over just about every bead dish I've tried so far, I found it's much safer for me to close my container immediatly after I get my bead. The pillbox stacks nicely too.

Hi Everyone,
I am new to this forum. I have a small bedroom that I use for beading. I like the bead boxes made by Darice. They are clear plastic, about 8X10 inches. Then you get small boxes with lids to place in the larger box. There are three different size boxes you can buy and you can mix an match to fit the larger box. I can just pull out the small boxes that have the beads I want for a particular project and work from them. I have six of the large boxes. I found these after I had been using a plastic craft box with about twenty spaces in it. One day I accidentally dropped the open box on my dining room floor. Not good! It took me a long time to crawl around and pick up beads. They were all my silver spacers, clasps, earwires, etc. I was bound and determined to find a better way to store my beads afer that.

The pill container sounds like a good idea too. It would be more economical than what I have.

I had recently bought one of the Darice boxes and just love it. I decided to store my blue and green seed beads in this box and will have to get more of those. The 3 sizes of boxes is what I like the best!

What about baggies? I know that you can buy very small ones and sizes vary. You could store your small baggies in gallon bags. Maybe that would work better for you as you can push the air out of the gallon bags and then store them better.
