I had this done on Dec 7,2007 and so far it has been fantastic!! They bring you in the hospital put you to sleep when you wake up, you feel cramping and you will continue to feel it for a few days and then that is it. I had a little spotting one day in Dec. (maybe last 15 minutes) and then I have not had anything this month (Jan). So for me this procedure is definately a thumbs up!! Especially if you are not interested in having any more children. I had two kids and then my tubes tide after that my menstrals were so bad that I could not leave the house for 3days because the bleeding was so bad. Now it is so GREAT!! So I highly recommend this!

I was diagnosed with adenomyosis. It's the complete opposite of endometriosis whereas the lining of the uterus grows into the muscle wall. He told me that there were 2 courses of treatment the real ouchy one, hysterectomy, or the Novasure procedure. Has anyone had the Novasure done as treatment for adenomyosis? If so please let me know how it went and if it was a good choice. I'm scheduled to have this done on March 3rd.

Hi BrendaLeeS,

I am new to the forum and initially came upon it seeking information on Novasure.

I noticed that your post was one of very few if not the only good review of the procedure.

Most of the ladies who experienced problems in my search did not have issues immediately following the procedure, but a few months after.

It has now been a little over 3 months since you had the procedure done.

Are you still satisfied with the results?

Thank you for reading this message and thanks in advance for your response.

Have A Great Day!

I just wanted to post that I had the NovaSure done this past Tuesday and today I am back to work.

It was a very positive experience for me. My Doctor was awesome. He did it right in his office, I took sedatives before hand and he also gave me something to relax as well in the office. It did hurt for the 60 seconds when the NovaSure was turned on. Afterwards I did have cramps during the day which I took Advil for. All in all it was a very positive experience and I am looking for positive results in the future!!

I had the NovaSure done March 2007. About the first month I had a heavy discharge with a slight odor. After that, I had my first spotting cycle (1-2 days) in May 2007. Then I had just discharge every month and no more cycles until September 2007; however August 2007 I did have some spotting. But in September that full cycle came with venegance. I have never felt pain like that before, I was floored (literally). I was back at the doctor and I was given an ultrasound which showed cysts. Since Sept 07, I have had severe pain & severe bleeding every month. Everything is pretty much more severe than before I had the procedure. It is now April 2008, and my doctor now says that a hysterectomy is what we are going to do now.

Good Morning.
Yesterday I had the Novasure Procedure. I did not have long long periods, but I would have 2-3 days of unpleasant messes and clotting. A few years ago my dr tried to to the ThermaChoice method, but they could not because my "uterus would not cooperate." So I have read the posts of the horror stories and was wondering if anyone had any good results. The horror stories scare the hell out of me. I had ultrasounds prior to this and blood work and such and they said that I did not have any measurable fibroids or endometriosis. Thanks.

My procedure was 3/20. I am now having a period. I feel like I'm 25 again and on the pill. No pain, and very light. I too have back problems, and even that is WAY better. I usually need (3) 800 Motrin per day (pms and during). I haven't needed ANY! My recovery period has been very long. I went straight from surgery discharge to a period so I'll see how long this lasts.

Before endometrial ablation is done using most other methods, it is necessary to thin the lining of the uterus with hormonal medication that induces temporary menopause or with birth control pills. Some of these medicines can have troublesome side effects. for more information on this subject here is most useful to us,
