Oh, the screaming kids in the grocery stores are enough to make me want to get sterilized!!!! I'm pretty sure my tubes are in the process of tying themselves as we speak. (Ha! Wishful thinking. If only.....)

If motherhood doesn't interest you, don't do it. It didn't interest me, so I didn't do it. Anyway, I would have made a terrible parent. The first time my child didn't do what I wanted, I'd kill him." --Katherine Hepburn

Here's one for ya:
I go running everyday at lunch with a friend. We were running along this path at the park and we passed a mom and her son - he was about 2 or 3 years old. As we passed I glanced down at the kid...very cute little guy with the most wicked gleam in his eye....Sure enough, a second later I felt something bounce off my backside - the kid had thrown a handful of gravel at us. His mom said, "Honey, please don't do that." Way to be stern, Mom!
Mother always said that even when things seem bad there's someone else who's having a worse day. Like being stung by a bee or getting a splinter or being chained to the wall in someone's sex dungeon.

NICE! I think I would have ran back with a few choice words for the mother!
I'm headed to St. Louis for a short getaway. I hope that after hearing all of your stories and knowing that I'm not alone I will be empowered to be proactive if there are any rude comments made to me or obnoxious children with nonreactive parents! Wish me luck!

I'm SO tired of hearing my co-worker talk about her new granddaughter. First thing every morning she tells me about how she is starting to walk, how cute she is, shows me pictures, etc. I have to work next to this lady and I've always been nice to her and vice versa but DAMN lady, I DON'T CARE about your grandkid! What makes you THINK I care? Do YOU care about my brand new car? Maybe I should start talking about how great it sounds when I start it up, how fast it can go. Leave me alone lady! Your daughter just had a kid--so what. So have millions of other women throughout history.

There's a woman here at my work who is OBSESSED with her daughter. I like her, but all she talks about is Kimberly, Kimberly, Kimberly.....plus she's involved in every single aspect of her life...takes off work early to attend every single one of her sporting events, runs all the school fundraisers, etc. I don't know if times have changed, but when I was in high school it wasn't cool to have your mom around - only the nerdy kids had their parents chaperoning their dances and field trips. My co-worker has a team jacket for her daughter's volleyball team - and where the name should be it says, "Kimberly's Mom." Blechh.
And she's always sharing the most intimate details about her daughter with everyone at work - when she started her period, etc., etc. - the poor girl would be absolutely mortified if she knew what her mom says.
Mother always said that even when things seem bad there's someone else who's having a worse day. Like being stung by a bee or getting a splinter or being chained to the wall in someone's sex dungeon.

If I felt evil, if I saw Kimberly and her mother was't around, I'd tell her about her mother blabbing the intimate details of her life.
