My mom was a wonderful woman. She took faith seriously. She said Faith was a personal thing, and when I was old enough she told me to seek out what I believe in. She didn't want me to just fall lock and step with her and be what she was. She wanted me to journey out and discover who I was. This was one of the best things she could have ever done. I discovered Judaism and my home on this journey. I also came to understand the greatness of Faith and that through my faith I became self-aware and self-accepting. I always go back to Genisis where it says G-d created all His children in His image. Therefore G-d don't make junk.. just makes some of us more colorful! LOL

Bubbles,

G-d --- A way of avoiding writing a name of G-d, to avoid the risk of the sin of erasing or defacing the Name. Judaism has a wide variety of names for the Creator; however, these names are not casually written down because of the risk that someone might destroy the writing, an act of disrespect for G-d and His Name.

Hope that helps....

yes that does!!! this kind of explains why the name of God was taken out of the bible!! i never understood it before. and i have always thought that god was sort of a generic and impersonal title and not a name or pacific deity!!! Although i hold God in reverance all the same no matter what deity i am revering to! weird uh?

It depends on the person> I think the best thing would be to ask your friend what she prefers you call her significant other.

Some us significant other, lover, partner, girl/boyfriend, and later on husband, wife. ETC ETC ETC

Just ask her and tell ehr you didn't mean to offend.
