Then why does the whole rest of the world believe that the last two Presidential elections were stolen?
I provided the sources for the evidence of that long ago. It is inescapable to anyone who examines the evidence available.
Remember, it was Nixon that was paranoid, not the people on his enemies list. There really WAS someone after them. They really were persecuted.

Some people wish to waste money on investigations, that never prove anything, instead of moving forward. Live with the majority and quit believing that there is some kind of hidden agenda that makes YOU an outsider.
Trish You DO realise that Al Gore had more votes then Bush did in 2000, don't you? 543,816 more votes, in fact. So if we went with the majority, Gore would've been president, not Bush.

Sigh... ok, where do I start?
"There were 39 combat related killings in Iraq in January." - not sure which January you're talking about. In Jan 2004 there were 47 US casualties, in Jan 2005 there were 107 and in Jan 2006 there were 62.
"Germany never attacked us; Japan did." - not sure what you're point is here but Japan and Germany had an alliance called the Tripartate Pact signed in Sept 1940, so if the US declared war on one country, they were at war with all the Pact countries
"Truman finished that war and started one in Korea North Korea never attacked us ". - and this was a good thing?
"Johnson turned Vietnam into a quagmire. From 1965-1975, 58,000 lives were lost" . - and upwards of 2 million SE Asians lives were lost. Are you trying to say that because a Democrat caused a mess in Viet Nam, that's it's OK for Bush to cause a mess in Iraq? Or are you just trying to say that the Vietnam war was a good thing?
"Clinton went to war in Bosnia without UN or French consent." - actually it was NATO that got involved in the Bosnian War when the Serbs started attacking safe zones in Bosnia. The US supported this as a member of NATO.
"He was offered Osama bin Laden's head on a platter three times by Sudan and did nothing." -this is a patently false claim that right-wingers love to say but has been proven to be completely wrong. The truth is that Sudan had offered to hand over Bin Laden to Saudi Arabia and Clinton begged the Saudis to take him. Sudan never offered Bin Laden to the US. The 9-11 Commission states in their report that this is a false claim.
"crushed the Taliban" - in fact, far from crushing them, the Taliban are getting stronger everyday in Afghanistan.
"crippled al-Qaida," -hardly. Since the war, al-Qaida have taken root in Iraq and are gathering strength throughout the Muslim world. They are working hard to increase sectarian violence as much as they can. Their recruiting is at an all-time high thanks to the war in Iraq.
"put nuclear inspectors in Libya , Iran , and, North Korea" -George Bush didn't put nuclear inspectors anywhere. The International Atomic Energy Agency (run by the UN) are the ones who put nuclear inspectors in those places.
"The Democrats are complaining about how long the war is taking. But It took less time to take Iraq than it took Janet Reno to take the Branch Davidian compound. That was a 51-day operation." - nobody disputes that the initial invasion happened quickly. It's now 3 1/2 years after Bush stood on the carrier deck and said his "mission accomplished" speech. In just the month of October alone there were 105 US Military deaths, at least 224 Iraqi security deaths and at least 1315 Iraqi civilian deaths. And there is NO END IN SIGHT. Still don't understand why Democrats AND Republicans are complaining about how long the war is taking?
"Our Commander-In-Chief is doing a GREAT JOB! The Military morale is high" - So that's why top generals and the "Army Times" are demanding the SECDEF's removal from office? And Bush wants him to stay?
"The biased media hopes we are too ignorant to realize the facts"
Yes, Fox News hopes you are too ignorant to realize the facts, and you've just proven them right by posting this incredibly fact-less piece of utter drivel.

Drea, you do realize that the government set up a balance for voting, don't you?
President Bush WON. That is old news. Why are you still fighting that battle? Today is another day.

I provided the sources for the evidence of that long ago. It is inescapable to anyone who examines the evidence available. You said to read Chap 3 but I presume you really mean Chap 6 since Chap 3 is mostly about Palast's beef with McDonalds. Obviously, I am not a big fan of Palast. In Chap 6 he makes rude comments about Texas indicating that the state smells (or at least the part of it he is in..hmmm?) and that we have our own language which, the way he writes about it, makes us sound very uneducated. At any rate, once you get past that, it seems his real issue is that Bush had some wealthy contributors. What exactly is in that chapter that would convince someone that the election had been stolen? Whatever it is, guess I missed it or just wasn't convinced. Or maybe it is in a different chapter. Not hard to see why Palast's own town requested he pack up and leave (see chap 3). Brooke

STOP USING 9/11 TO JUSTIFY A WAR AGAINST A COUNTRY THAT HAD NOTHING TO DO WITH IT! The way to defeat Al Qaeda is to destroy its financial, logistical and personnel systems. Al Qaeda was created on Saudi soil and supported financially by Saudis (not the Saudi government, but Saudi citizens). The US attempted to get the Saudis to help them but they refused. This is unfortunate because the way to defeat Al Qaeda is to have the support of the Saudis, which is why the US really wants to avoid direct confrontation with them. So, why invade Iraq? Two main reasons: 1) The Saudis do not want American troops along their border. They are used to having hostile troops on their border but they are also used to having the US protect them. The thought that the US has changed positions and is no longer protecting them is something they have never had to deal with. 2) The Saudis do not want the Iraqi oil on the market because it poses an economic threat to their own oil supply. If the US has control of Iraqi oil then they can get it flowing on the market....or they can stop it from flowing if the Saudis will help the US in defeating Al Qaeda. Hopefully, the two items above will make the Saudis cooperate with the US. Once again, Saudi cooperation is key to defeating Al Qaeda. There is much, much more to Bush's strategy but this is the starting point of their reasoning. George Friedman's book "America's Secret War" provides excellent insight into America's strategy. When you were a child and another child hit you then you knew exactly who to hit back (or who to turn the other cheek on, depending on your upbringing). The point is, you simply cannot take this elementary reasoning and try to apply it to a situation as complicated as 9/11 and Al Qaeda. Brooke

Trish I was responding to her statement of "live with the majority". It's a fact that the majority of Americans voted for Gore, not Bush, but because of the way the electoral college is set up, Bush ended up becoming President.

It might be old news, but it doesn't hurt to remind people once in a while of the travesty that was the 2000 election!
But today IS a pretty great day, isn't it??
Democrats are in the House, possibly the Senate, and Rumsfeld's OUTTA HERE!!!!!!! For the first time in 6 years, I'm starting to have hope about the future of the US government.
