BellaOnline Forums Sports Wrestling JBL to RAW?

Well it looks like JBL is going to RAW. Not a great way to transistion to RAW as far as I'm concerned. I like JBL overall. I feel that he's come a long way & is deserving of top tier level status, but I also feel like he's needs to get rid of that gut & those big pair of bologna boobs.
What do you all think?

JBL has severe back problems and is supposed to take about 3 months off then return to Smackdown. There was some talk for a short time of him going to Raw but so far as I have heard now, he is scheduled to go back to SD. He is also contemplating retirement but I doubt that will happen just yet. He is woefully out of shape because the new wellness program is kicking in and he now looks like he always did without steroids and it ain't pretty. Maybe he will get his back into shape and lose the weight and tone up and come back in a few months better than he was.

I am not a JBL fan but he did well when given the ball and he is a good talker and character. Smackdown NEEDS someone!

I really hope he doesn't end up on Raw. If so, they may as well close down Smackdown and just have one big roster since Smackdown is losing people by the day...

I personally don't see how the wellness program has affected him. I thought he had the man boobs and thunder thighs for a while before the testing kicked in!

Anyhoo, I agree with Patty - he has to go back to SD. If it still exists in three months.

I'm not sure if they will close Smackdown they are advertising their UK tour in November as Raw events and Smackdown events. I've got my tickets already as they are coming to my home town so looking forward to that, last time I saw it live was way back in the eighties, man what a hoot we had that night, Hacksaw Jim Duggan gave me and my mate the thumbs up cause we stood up with the big fake (sponge) 2 by 4's and saluted him. <img src="/images/graemlins/cool.gif" alt="" />

Smackdown isn't going anywhere! They're just...going through a transitional period. They'll be OK. I hope.

So do I!! Maybe they should just bite the bullet and draft some people over to SD from RAW. Any ideas - excluding the guys who would just point blank refuse to go and can get away with doing so, like H and HBK?

Well...Guys like Shelton Benjamin and Charlie Haas could go and do better than they are on Raw (Haas disappeared, apparently, already). Sheesh I am drawing a blank as far as the roster goes. I can only think of HHH, HBK, and the Spirit Squad. How scary is THAT?

From what Dave Meltzer said, WWE is really thinking of giving their brands rankings.

He said they would consider Raw the big leagues, Smackdown the Triple A circuit, ECW the Double A circuit, and OVW the Single A league.

And if you watch Smackdown, it's sort of how it is. But if they feel that way, why are the Smackdown PPV's still the same price as Raw?

It is pretty obvious they think much less of Smackdown than they do Raw and I agree...why should we pay the same for the "big leagues" as we for for the "minor leagues". But I hate the idea of ranking the shows. They should all do their best for the good of the fans and the ratings.

Maybe Charlie Haas could want to make the jump to ECW? If he's not going anywhere on Raw, he could see ECW as a safe ground to keep working - certainly since he's about to become a dad and will need the money... I know all about that with my first on the way!

Could any of the "big names" who used to be in be making a return? Some people I'm thinking of are the likes of Stone Cold, Goldberg, Steiner (shudder!) or Hall and Nash? Maybe Brock (although if he even does get to come back, it'd be on ECW). Perhaps even Hulk Hogan... They could be brought in to bolster Smackdown's popularity and numbers.

Although, from what I remember, all of those names were on Raw - coincidence?
