In the dream I was looking out of the window & a large crow landed in a bare tree just outside. As I looked its appearance became more puppet-like & scrawny. First its beak stretched until it was just hinged to the back of its head, then the feathers began to disintegrate (no body, just air beneath) soon all the feathers were gone & there was just the winter tree & pieces floating down that looked like the smuts from a bonfire more than feathers.

Hi Lauren, I'm trying to remember what meaning a certain number of crows had for the Celts. Does one indicate company coming? (Maybe that's a dropped fork????) If it does mean the arrival of a significant person, maybe your instinct is telling you this situation looks like more than it really is. Are crows happy sorts of creatures for you (Ravenstar after all...)? Some people would interpret a forboding message in the arrival of a crow. I personally like them, noisy, bossy sorts that they are. How did the dream leave you feeling?
Be kinder than you need to be. Everyone is dealing with something.

Normally I like all members of the crow family, but this was like something out of a horror movie- what I should have added was it followed a nightmare earlier in the night which I suspect was quite 'real' at an astral level, so I was already disconcerted! We did the rhyme under the Folklore forum once, here's the thread: Raven Mythology

This kind of reminds me of Pharoah's dreams that Joseph interpreted in the Bible that represented famines. Since Joseph was able to interpret the dreams, they were able to avert catastrophe by storing up food during the good years.
Is there something coming up that maybe you need to be saving for? Can you think of anything that might require a good bit of money in the future that might eat into your savings, so maybe you ought to pinch back a little now?
Just a thought...

It felt highly symbolic Michelle & now you come to mention it rather like those Biblical dreams- though I was hoping the crow didn't represent me
It didn't feel like money, but it certainly wasn't about something nice...
Perhaps I need to 'pull myself together' or not spread myself too thinly? Maybe it was a warning to take good care of the physical body? Wouldn't hurt to follow that even if it isn't the true interpretation.

This one is a no-brainer to me! Obviously your avatar was falling apart; spring has sprung, soon it will be June, and summer. Your avatar looks like a winter scene with the barren tree. Perhaps it should be seasonal, and there is a new one out there, just waiting for you to find it. Go ahead, there is another Raven out there for you, but it might not come to you!

I will stop after this one. Do you know anyone elderly, perhaps in poor health? Is it a man? (old crow), or woman? (old crone)

Hey Firefly that cheered me up a bit- it did look like the winter tree in my avatar. Ah a fresh new look is what I need, I feel the hairdressers coming on Or I suppose it could be blowing away the old structures- I've just left the big love of my life. Oh dear I've just noticed that I've mentioned him in my last three posts...perhaps not quite over him yet.
The elderly mum of the guy who owns the Celtic shop I work in passed early this morning. Though I didn't know her I'd been having the health bulletins for a while now. Crows & death are linked in mythology as you say.

I cant help but mention that with the bird/ashes connection that I thought of the Phoenix. so perhaps you have some rebirth coming rather than a bad omen...which would also hit upon the fresh avatar..summer...newly single...recent death aspects in your life. Just a thought.

I believe in an earlier post we discussed the possibility of you meeting someone Very Special this summer. Hmm, it will be summer soon! Maybe you need to start shaking your tail feathers!
