HOLY COW!!!! LITERALLY!!!

Whoever created this sculpture has a bad sense of humor and PRO-LIFE???!!! WHY??? Because she had a child? Instead of an abortion? So did Joan Crawford.... Honestly this is the most moronic association with the Pro-Life movement I've ever seen...

Whatever happened to good old fashioned value for human life being enough to carry the arguement for human life beginning at conception... does anyone expect a woman to be swayed by this depiction of Britney's "birth experience"?

Not to mention, it isn't even an accurate depiction, since she had a C-section.

I just don't think, imo, that she is at all worthy of this (nor would i really want to see this statue of anyone). sometimes i just don't get the way people idolize celebs...

Maybe they should have had a statue of her in her SUV with the baby on her lap. I have issue with the whole thing. I am sure that she thinks it is such an honor. I sure hope they have her husband's rap music playing while everyone is enjoying looking at the statue. Then maybe everyone can discuss which is a bigger joke: his music, this statue, or them as parents. Sad!!!

I find this statue intriguing, beautiful even. I don't care who it's supposed to be, but there is much there to be contemplated.

What is it about it that you find beautiful? Please help me to understand because I dont know much about art and maybee you can help explain it to me...

What is it I find beautiful about my husband? What is it you find beautiful about your pets? Beauty is in the eye of the beholder. It neither requires nor responds to requests to be explained. And yet still, I shall

Life is beautiful. This is how life comes into the world. Why sugarcoat it? We don't pop out in rose-filled fields, without pain to the mother, coated in honeysuckle robes.

Birth is a sacrifice; this sculpture shows that. This is the common pose for natural birth. Many midwives have said this depicts the actual pose recommended.

Whether she had a C section or not, or whether you feel she is Mother Teresa or not, is immaterial. She didn't commission nor condone this statue. It is a woman, giving birth, with artistic elements such as a bearskin rug.

If he had used just any woman, it would not be spoken of. The artist is a master in publicity. He chose her because she was #1 in Google searches. That is all.

In the end, I love it because woman gives life. That is her privilege and is to be celebrated. The Goddess is maid, mother and crone. This celebrates one of those aspects.

YW; I love the responses in here!

For the ppl who think this in some way honors or pays homage to Britney....

Would YOU want to be depicted this way? If someone did a statue of you and this was the end result, would you feel flattered, honored, dignified?

I see it pretty satirical; and yet there is much there.

The juxtaposition between a pose that is usually sexual, but now means something else.

A baby on a bear skin. Is this woman sort of a baby? A baby giving birth to a baby?

If someone made a statue of me like this, I would be mortified, I would already have dragged him into court, and the statue would be history. I am no porn expert, but does the "crowning head" make it acceptable? If this is a satirical statue, that is one thing, but why are the Pro Lifers embracing it? What are they thinking???? Life is beautiful, but this statue needs to disintegrate or self destruct and do everyone a favor. Beam that thing out of here.
