...My cat being the only sure source of companionship on any given day. Why do my married friends always have to hang with other married friends?

You don't get out much, do you?
Any reason for that?

Why not join a swimming club, or a walking club? they'd keep you fit and healthy, and you'd meet some wonderful folks.
if your only guaranteed contact is with your cat, then it can't take responsibility for that...That leaves only you, then....
Come on! Up you get! Find those yellow pages, and look for associations, sports centres and - get up and go!!

they have something in common and these women need each other for support all of them are going through, the fun and hardship of being married.

the hardest thing might be "having your mom bug you about marriage" ad you don't intend to.

Well, the lesson I've learned today is that my exaggerative and sarcastic tendencies do not show up in print. Good to know. I will work on that.

That being said, sincere thanks to Alexandra for the great ways to meet people and also to shyrphoebe for pointing out that married people need support as much as single people do.

My mom doesn't bug me about getting married, but I suspect that will change in time... How do you cope?

Cuddling+ Kissing someone you love

On the otherside no arguments, added frustrations, having to ask someone all the time what you can do if is needed.

My time,my space, do what I want when want to,eat when want to etc.
Thats the plus few more I am sure/no snoring.lol

I guess if you're ugly too, that doesn't help. I don't have that problem obviously.

lol... Well at least you're gorgeous and humble to boot

You know, when I think about it, there are a lot of different things that can make being single hard... Like having a job you hate, for instance. I don't know why I find that so much harder when I'm single.

--Paying the bills--no one to pay half of the rent/utilities (if not married) or combine their income with yours
--Knowing that you don't have a built-in friend/ally--which means if you move somewhere new or don't have friends where you are, you're completely alone
--Knowing that you don't have anyone who cares about you
--Seeing/hearing people you know making plans with their significant other, talking about stuff they've done together, etc. and knowing you don't have that/no one will be waiting for you to come home (this can be a plus: no one bitching when you come home as late as you want)
