I read this article by Tony Long this morning: You, to, Can Right Like a Blogger

What do you think of the quality of most of the blogs you've seen? Is it important? Are blogs really journals gone bad? Do you have any favourite blogs you visit on a regular basis?

Here are some of my favourite blogs I visit on a recurring basis:

Well, I've seen a lot of bad blogs, but I have one of my own (with Live Journal) and I am careful about who I let read it and I'm selective about whom I read.

One of my blog friends was actually discovered through her blog. She had her first novel published by TOR last fall, and her second and third installments of the trilogy are being published this year and next year, respectively. This might never have happened if someone hadn't discovered the immense writing talents that she displayed on her blog.

I use them as entertainment, rarely information.
There are a few I check on regularly with the help of my RSS reader. I have three, one for homeschool-related issues, one that is personal and public and one that is personal and private for friend's eyes only.

why? I wouldnt keep a journal of any kind any other way and I have a lot of friends and family who live far away.

HA HA...funny article <img src="/images/graemlins/smile.gif" alt="" /> I had thought of blogging as online journaling, but I never put anything as personal as my journal into my blog. I figure my blog is public, so only public thoughts.

I do my morning pages (julia cameron's exercise from the Artist Way) on my computer (so they can be deleted if need be at a later time) and then I have my regular journal, dream journal and journal of my spiritual path... I guess I'm a journal junkie LOL.

It probably is, but most peoples' "blogs" (as opposed to blogs that are often political in nature and such, and quite public) are, like mine, merely ways to keep up with friends from far away; my friends aren't around for me to tell them in person what I'm up to, nor do I have time to tell them each individually, so most of us have livejournals and we can keep up that way.

Wow. Is there a reason that "c - r - a - p" suddenly shows up as a censored word on my reply but none of the others?

Wow, that's kind of funny. The forum was updated so maybe that has something to do with it.

Blogging has never done anything for me. Then I could be reading the wrong ones. Usually it is about housewives telling their daily activities and that does nothing for me.

I much prefer forums, people asking questions and reading answers.

What's wrong with [censored]?
I write two different blogs daily. Each of them is about ponds and water gardens and promotes my online business. I am thinking of hiring myself out for a third one.
