Well, let's hope there will be enough of us getting sterilized to offset the quiverfull women out there. I agree that he that is without sin should cast the first stone. The same bible also mentions that we are all sinners and that none of us are perfect. Guilt should not be used as a tactic to convince someone to give birth. I still see it as far worse to give birth to children that you don't want.

It really seems strange to me that this country has some members of government so dead set against providing birth control and/ or information and resources to the poorer countries that could really use it.
So, it's better to see the starving children on the news and their helpless parents rather than give them contraception?
Heaven forbid that we go against our personal beliefs and do what needs to be done - like it or not.

The only thing I can figure out is that they look at China, and are afraid that if they start down that path - will they wind up in the same place (I don't think so, but what do I know, I'm just a mother, not an all-knowing politician trying to line my own pockets.)

But, seriously, in China they have the situation where women abort babies because it is not the sex child they wanted because they only are allowed 1, maybe 2 children. Then sterilization is enforced.

Surely there must be some happy medium between the two.

I remember when I was still working in surgery doing a tubal ligation on a 19 year old girl who already had 5 children. 19 !!!!! And ya'll do not want to know how filthy this woman was - so I can only imagine what her children looked like (she was a postpartum ligation - she came in right after her birth). And yes, she was on welfare and Medicare.

Like I said - where is the happy medium, and who ha the right to enforce it?

I feel very sorry for the women and children that reside in these 3rd world countries. They have the fewest rights and have to suffer the most.
Surely, some woman out there has realized that it only adds to their (and the child's) suffering to keep having children. Thank God I was born in america
