Yeah, it was a bit tricky but I wanted to show the flame pattern on both boots, and it's up the outside of the ankle.

Having a good foot masseur for after I get out of those shoes is becoming more essential as I get older... lol...

What's great about shoes like that is if you have them in your bag, you don't need to carry your can of Mace.... you could pretty easily point one of those stilettoes at any attacker and he'd back right off.

Rae, do you get your shoes custom-made?

I suppose having a couple of pairs of 6-inch heeled fetish shoes in the closet *does* qualify you as a shoe person after all, Rae.... who needs 108 pairs (not counting slippers) when you have a pair of those in your closet?

[[Gets secretly jealous]]

Megan,

Those aren't even the prize shoes either. Suffice to say, a seven year career doing wholesale and retail sales for a leather/fetish/kinky toy company left me with a lovely wardrobe. Head to toe.

Those boots normally came with red flames, so that was the only part done custom. I have a "thing" for purple.... ok, it's more than a thing...

LOL I have friends who are old deadheads who ALWAYS dress in purple, it's just their color.... they refer to themselves as the Purple People. Actually, Mrs. Purple People just got a purple tattoo (her first), it's groovy... it's a buffalo inside a yin-yang.

Ahh. Now, these are more than just shoes. They're works of art! Purple instead of red puts them over the top!

Michelle,

Sounds like your husband is a typical man, lol!

The thing about the black shoes is funny. It's exactly like a TV ad I just saw for a womens shoe store. It showed a twenty-something woman trying to decide between three different styles of black dress shoes. So, she brings them over to her boyfriend and asks him which ones he likes best. You see the guy looking really confused, and then you see the shoes the way he's seeing them -- three identical, plain-looking pairs!!

The good news is, I bet hubby will notice those high heeled boots!

By the way, the shoe article I mentioned is at http://www.bellaonline.com/articles/art41240.asp

I list some of the many things shoes can do to lift your spirits (and your derriere!). If anyone has something they think I should add, let me know, maybe I'll write a Part II <img src="/images/graemlins/wink.gif" alt="" />

I'm less and less tolerant of shoes that hurt. In my twenties I could wear anything no matter how high-heeled, pointy toed, hard-soled, or arch-supportless they were, for the sake of looking good. In my thirties the heels started getting lower and less spikey, and I needed more toe room. Now, in my forties, I can only drag out those hot-looking heels and toes for very special occasions, and I usually end up in my stocking feet halfway through the event!! But that doesn't stop me from drooling over those styles when I go shoe-shopping.

That's me already with the low heels and I'm only in my mid 20s. I'll droll over shoes but not wear most of what I like. My feet are hard to fit because I got my paternal grandma's narrow AA ankles and my mom's bunions- though the aren't that bad at all thankfully.

Also, I'm clutzy so I positively ruin shoes. The heels get worn down in weird ways (I was a toe walker as a kid and think that must have stuck in some way).

I think part of my ability to wear death-defying shoes on a daily basis is my "perfect step". I was sitting across from a chiropractor at a party once and put my feet up, and the guy looked at the bottom of my favorite black boots and said "My God, I'd love to videotape you!" I freaked out a little bit, and then he told me what he did for a living, and judging by the wear on the bottom of my shoes, I have a "perfect step"... I was very proud, it's rare that I get told that something physical is "perfect". I never did let him videotape me, though.
