Lauren, about that spirit attachment...recently I was volunteering with a woman and her parents. I told them about the footsteps we would hear upstairs at our previous house, and about the lights and alarm going on and off in the night, mostly when my husband was out of town, at our new house. They said I might have a ghost attached to me!! That night, when I got home I walked past the refrigerator, about ten feet away. Boom! the metal vent dealy fell off of the front of the fridge, with a very loud crash! It is on the bottom of the door, and was extremely loud since it did not fall down, just forward. The cat bolted. I looked at the metal thing, and thought "alrighty then!" And, there has been no weirdness since then. Except once, but that is a different story.

Sometimes these guys try to frighten us with loud noises...or maybe they are just trying to get our attention. If all has been calm since I wouldn't get too concerned.
When I moved into this house a few months ago there was quite a psychic 'clean up' operation needed. It feels much better here now & it's physically warmer too thank goodness! However there is something still out in the shed that I haven't got round to yet. I went out a couple of weeks ago & crash- just as I stepped over the threshold a heavy object was thrown down. It did make me jump I checked it out with my very psychic daughter & she confirmed that there is a 'something' that makes her uneasy out there too.

ok, while i respect dave in his vehemence and fervor attached to his religion...never mind im not going there...i could debate religion forever and im not ini the mood at the moment.
sides Id think of all the oil annointments that would be needed to rid placces of negativity and cringe at the stains on the walls...give me a nice sage smudge bowl; now thats heaven incarnate...
as for my own house, while ive never seen anything so to speak the top of the stairs creeps me outand just the stairs which is crazy because theyre at the center of the house and can be seen from nearly every room. but then again they are the center of the house...I digress. at night when i walk across the head of the stairs i feel as if someone is staring at me...more at night/dawn/dusk than in the day time and no im not scared of the dark...im one of those silly people that walks around campsites with out a flashlight. I also have a mirror that hangs on that wall of the house always felt odd having it there expecting to have someone other than myself looking back.

Funnily enough it was a spirit at the top of the stairs that was most disconcerting when we moved in here too. There were others but he was the unpleasant one. Everyone who came would glance up the stairs & give a bit of a shudder. Some people actually refused to go up at all.
I used the energy of one of my teaching groups to see him on his way as he was extremely resistent. He was surrounded by a group of angels & physically dragged off in the end. Both myself & one of the others saw an image of him clinging on to the doorframe by his fingertips at the same moment. I believe he was a very violent & unpleasant character in life & was frightened by what would be awaiting him in the afterlife.
Now there is still a residue of his energy to shift, like an imprint he left on things, but the whole house feels much more pleasant. I'm using organic sage smudge sticks I brought back from Turkey last year & also burning frankincense granules. The energy is lifting gradually.
I'd move that mirror if it makes you feel uneasy Wendy. Why not get some psychic friends in & ask for assistance to move this presence on?

its actually when IM at the top of the stairs looking down. and in actuality...even though it was my nanas bathroom mirror and placed to reflect the window across the wall sort of as a feng shui type thing. and it was more when i first put it on the wall so i wasnt used to having a mirror there.

Wendy, It's funny. Most non-christians say things like you did in your above post, " I could debate religion forever" but then when confronted by someone knowledgable in their faith they always back out by saying, as you did, " I'm not in the mood at the moment" Methinks it a dodge. Fearful? Yes, this IS a challenge. Got the intellectual courage?

Dave, this is really not the place for this conversation. Everyone here has been polite and has respected your conviction. You don't have to agree. You don't need to pick a fight. Even if you believe others to be misguided you know that no one will be won to Christ by harrassing them. Love, patience, prayer yes. Harrassment and argument, no.
Be kinder than you need to be. Everyone is dealing with something.

I believe that anyone can have an encounter with the other side. It's not based on your religion.

This topic freaks me out,I am interested, but freaked out! I am grieving the death of someone very close to me. To my knowledge I have not recognized any spirits around me. I feel sad, but isn't that normal? Is there a way to know that my Jeffrey has passed onto a better place. I mean a way to know if he is around me still? I have moved to a new town and it has been 9 months. Any advice. New to this H

Hi Girlonthego, and welcome to the bellaonline forums. I can understand this topic freaking you out I really believe that when our loved ones leave they are in a better place, and they can choose to check in on us. Sometimes they make their presence known to us by simply popping into our minds, so we think about them. We may be directed to change the radio station and hear their favorite song, we may dream about them. And even if we move, they know where we are because they can connect to us simply by thinking about us.
They may not hang around us all the time, after all, they have a new life now, and it must seem pretty amazing to them to be where they are.
There is a beautiful story from the author, Wayne Dyer, where he had a very good friend who died. This friend was fascinated by Monarch butterflies. One afternoon a monarch butterfly landed on Wayne's finger, and stayed with him for a couple of hours. Wayne just knew it was his friend popping in to say hello.
When we loose someone we love and we want to know how they are doing, we can pray and ask for a sign. Then we pay attention, and not write off what may come to us as a coincidence.
There are no coincidences
Many Blessings to You!
