I am 3/4 of the way done with my first draft of my novel based on an abusive relationship I was in. It is listed as fiction so noone sues me <img src="/images/graemlins/smile.gif" alt="" /> I started it during National Novel Writing month (NaNoWriMo - www.nanowrimo.com). I am also working on a novel with my best friend tentatively titled "The Harbinger" It is about a man who encounters a coven of witches that guide him along his path the Fool card in a Tarot deck.

I am a writer for Bella - a non-fiction magazine writer for Family Magazine and a previous fiction/romance writer for Harlequin. I am constructing another manuscript to get back on the fiction/romance bandwagon.
I took time to train as a chef (a life-long dream) and now I want to also publish a cookbook!
Yes, I am a writer.

The Harbinger sounds interesting.
Good luck to you all.
I've just placed a book entitled "Tina's Moon" with ReneEbooks. They are coming out with my first in a series of fantasy/comedies soon. "The Dragon Creed" is the story of a young man studying magic in a world where magic is illegal. He apprentices to the only dragon on his continent, but complications arise. The first chapter, "Scales of Justice", was published as a short story by Andromeda Spaceways Inflight Magazine.
They contracted for the entire series. I've sent them 4 and am writing the fifth.
Necromancer's Curse is available now at fictionwise. See my web page to read free book excerpts and short stories. Go to "fiction", then check out "Dichotomy", "Translation" and "Scales of Justice".
Hope your romance works out. It should be fun getting back into the genre.
For new writers, get yourself a web page. It's a good way to let folks know what you have to offer.

I have two novels with a small press called Authors Ink Books, and I'm the senior editor for Champagne Books, a digital romance publisher. I'm currently shopping my third book with agents--woo hoo, what fun! :-p
I posted some info about my just-released second book in the Women's Literature forum.

Different Roads sounds very interesting Joyce. I wish you well with it.
Susie, I also enjoyed your Dichotomy extract - I read that a while back. Your narrator is a very intriguing character.

Hi all - wanted to refresh this thread, because everyone sounded so interesting. I am working on three works - a Southern novel (a-la Harper Lee, so I am told), a self-illustrated childrens book (I am an artist by trade)and a co-cuthored fantasy/period novel. Have gotten good critiques so far - and all are works in progress..... Keep writing, everyone!

ArtGlam, do you have a website with samples posted? TKAM is one of my all-time favorite books, and what a compliment for you to be compared to Harper Lee. My first two books are set in the South in the late 70's to mid 80's. My third is also in the South, but it's set in 2006.

I write for a living, but that's the boring, dry legal stuff about cases and the occasional article for trade journals.
For fun, I write erotic fiction.

Yay and horray, other writers. I found this site (this is the first post... (oh no, a virgin postie)because I was looking for other writers to chat with. I have published a historical fantasy novel and have one completed and ready to submit but am having awful sophmore fears.
Thanks for the tip Ghotsposts, the whole marketing part is the difficult part for me. Would much rather hole myself up at Starbucks and write the afternoon away than market. Agh.
And Joyce, I'm going to look up your book, I'm on this crazy women's lit reading spree right now and am sucking up whatever I can get my hands on.
Good luck to everyone.
