I would like to know how to make my eyes pop! lol
I have big, dark brown eyes and I have a fair complexion..
I would like my eyes to stand out more, with a product that is long-lasting...Is it in the eyeshadow or in the eyeliner that makes the difference...

Hello sister Brown Eyes! Franny, when I want to make my brown peepers pop!, I use an eye shadow in the neutral skin tone shades. I like a beige, or champagne shade myself. I'll use a bit of a brown shadow shade, just a bit, softened, along the crease of the eyelid, and swept out and up, at the corner of my eye, just a hint, just barely there. I use a blackish/brown powder pencil eyeliner most of the time. I also like a dark khaki powder pencil eyeliner. This deep, dark shade of green really accentuates the brown eyes. I have a dark forest green eyeshadow that I use as eyeliner too. Just use a liner brush to apply the shadow line, then soften it a bit.

As a finsihing touch, curl those lashes, and add your mascara and I guarantee you, people will definitely notice those stunning brown eyes of yours!

Hi Jeannine,
Thanks, for the tips...I didn't even think of a dark shade of green...I thought maybe something in the purple/violet range, but I never thought of green...I have long lashes and just apply one coat to the top lash...I know some people apply it to the bottom as well, but it's too much for me...I can't apply eyeliner to my top lid as it just doesn't look right on me...I only wear eyeliner on the inside of my lower lashes, but it always ends up smudging or fading...

Hey babe!!!

Honestly speaking, anything works!

You can do it with powder or creams. Just make sure that for shading, your product is two shades darker than your skin tone and for highlighting, it's two shades lighter than your skin tone.

I haven't come across anything that's already packaged...that would be too easy for the company!

Just basic powder will do!

When I'm doing a face, it all depends on what I'm using. If I start with my cream foundation, then I'll use the cream foundation to contour. Powder foundation, then that to contour.

One of the most important tips to remember is this:

Just because it says that a particular product should be used here or there, doesn't mean that you have to stick with that.

For example: Lipstick This is going to be fun!!! If you're in a rush, Take your lip colour and with your pinky finger, put it into the crease of your eyes for eyeshadow, a little on your cheeks for blush and don't forget your lips!!! You can do the same for blush. Eyeliner can be used for lipliner and lipliner for eyeliner.

Know do you girls know what I'm talking about?

Okay, keep them coming!!

I have a question regarding using lipstick for eyeshadow and blush...When you use one product for more than one thing on your face isn't there a chance for bacteria and getting a reaction from doing this? I'm just asking because I always thought you couldn't use the same product for different areas on your face?

Hi Franny, yes, it's true and the only way to stop the spread of bacteria is to use a palette knife or spatula to scrape product off and then use a brush or fingers to apply. You never want to touch your products with your fingers because of contamination. If you use a spatula and a brush to apply lipstick, you'll keep your lipstick much cleaner!

Hi CC, thanks for letting me know this...
Are there any brands which you can recommend?
I have sensitive skin and I know that some products are not meant to be used for all areas on the face, but it would come in handy to have one multi-purpose product...

Hi Franny, I saw your post and I hope you don't mind me butting in here... I have big brown eyes also (big brown cow eyes lol) I have a big collection of eyeliners for different moods, and a few of my faves are: Bonne Bell Eye Definers in "forest", "stardust" (it has silver sparkles in it, very hot for a nite out), "espresso","black plum", and Annabelle brand in "lotus" (green) and "sky". You can find these brands in drugstores, Loblaws etc. Hope that helps

Hi fishwife,
Thanks, for letting me know which brands and colours to look for...Of course, I don't mind and I appreciate your tips...if you have any more advice on making my eyes pop let me know...lol...Do you wear eyeliner on the lower lash or on the upper lash for better results? I can't wear eyeliner on the top lid, it doesn't look right on me...
